Germany. They've struggled against some far worse teams, but they've done pretty well against the real competition. I expect today to be no different.

Messi only needs one or two chances to ruin your day
And if Germany does not double and triple him, he will have them

Maradona just had one in 1986
Long pass to Burruchaga (surrounded by germans) and Burru scored the winner

I just saw one of those ESPN "I scored a goal in the World Cup" pieces on Andreas Brehme's PK in the 1990 final. It was quite good and I hope all my new Argentine friends get a chance to see it. I looked and it hasn't been posted to YouTube yet. Sorry. Perhaps ABC will play it during the WC pre-game show.

Yeah mmm that's the thing. Messi is exhausted, all the games have finally caught up to him. He hasn't roamed much on the pitch, he's hardly running like he uses to. His father was quoted as saying his son is fatigued. Hopefully he's been saving his energy for the final.

I'd note that you can find Mario Kempes' "I scored a WC goal" piece on YouTube, but then I'd just be doing your job, you lazy Argie. ;)

Can't wait. Hope it is a fair and flowing game. I am very interested to see how each side deals with its questions and tactics. This WC has been one for the ages and I hope it is capped with a crowning final match. Get it done Germany!

I'd like to see a scrappy affair as I don't like either team. ;)

    JK, beautiful football please.

I have a gut feeling he should be benched. He can´t possibly be fit and it would suck to burn a sub in the first 30 mins. Lets hope Im wrong.

That is of course the risk everybody is talking about
    He will be infiltrated
Apparently, that him resented after the practice yesterday was not true
That was a journalists version, and they are not allowed to watch the practicesl

And if you bench him and he enters later, you would lose two substitutions or end with 10
If he plays, he must start

No it wouldn't. I rather have him start then sub out, rather then subbed in then subbed out wasting 2 subs instead of 1. Also Argentina needs him to help neutralize that midfield because I am pretty sure the battle will be there.

He would not be subbed in. The only reason he would come in is if we were behind. And in that scenario, Aguero would be the first choice.

I am starting to question these fitness reports. Prior to yesterday’s kickoff you’d think the Dutch camp was a M.A.S.H. unit and LVG was doing triage to see if he could even field 11. Then game time comes and the disinterested Dutch field all their stars.

Of course they can. Haven't you heard? We did get a lot of German immigrants back in the 20th century.
