Use this thread to predict the 23 players that Maradona will choose to take to South Africa, or to pick the ones that you think should be chosen.

These are my choices as of today. (I know Diego will never pick this squad)

    Goalies:
    Mariano Andujar (Catania, Italy)
    Sergio Romero (AZ Alkmaar, Holland)
Juan Pablo Carrizo (Real Zaragoza, Spain)

    Defenders:
    Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan, Italy)
    Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City, England)
    Martin Demichelis (Bayern Munich, Germany)
    Walter Samuel (Inter Milan, Italy)
    Gonzalo Rodriguez (Villarreal, Spain)
    Nicolas Pareja (Espanyol, Spain)
    Emiliano Insua (Liverpool, England)

    Midfielders:
    Javier Mascherano (Liverpool, England)
    Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan, Italy)
    Ever Banega (Valencia, Spain)
    Mario Bolatti (Huracan, Argentina)
    Maximiliano Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid, Spain)
    Angel Di Maria (Benfica, Portugal)
Juan Roman Riquelme (Boca Juniors, Argentina)
    Pablo Aimar (Benfica, Portugal)

    Forwards:
    Lionel Messi (Barcelona, Spain)
    Carlos Tevez (Manchester City, England)
    Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid, Spain)
    Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid, Spain)
    Lisandro Lopez (Lyon, France)

    My starting eleven:

    .....................Andujar

I liked what you had a lot. Just a couple of changes that I made... I would choose to take 8 DFs for defensive cover, but also because some one like zanetti can play at RB, LB or any where across the midfield.

    Goalkeepers:
    Mariano Andujar (Catania, Italy)
    Sergio Romero (AZ Alkmaar, Holland)
    Oscar Ustari (Getafe Spain)

    Defenders:
    Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan, Italy)
    Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City, England)
    Martin Demichelis (Bayern Munich, Germany)
    Walter Samuel (Inter Milan, Italy)
    Ezequiel Garay (Real Madrid, France)
    Gonzalo Rodriguez (Villareal, Spain)
    Emiliano Insua (Liverpool, England)
    Nicolas Pareja (Espanyol, Spain)

    Midfielders:
    Javier Mascherano (Liverpool, England)
    Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan, Italy)
    Ever Banega (Valencia, Spain)
    Diego Perotti (Sevilla, Spain)
    Angel Di Maria (Benfica, Portugal)
    Juan Sebastian Veron (Estudiantes, Argentina)
    Pablo Aimar (Benfica, Portugal)

    Forwards:
    Lionel Messi (Barcelona, Spain)
    Carlos Tevez (Manchester City, England)
    Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid, Spain)
    Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid, Spain)
    Lisandro Lopez (Lyon, France)

With the talent that maradona has on his disposal, choosing the 23 for the world cup is a really hard task.Inevitably some very good players will be left out.My choice would be:
    -GKs:Andujar,Romero,Ustari
    -DFs:Zanetti,Ansaldi,Insua,Demichelis,Samuel,Gonzalo,Burdisso
    -MFs:Mascherano,Cambiasso,Banega,Veron,Di Maria,Maxi,Perotti
    -FWs:Messi,Aguero,Licha,Higuain,Dominguez,Zarate

    And the formation:

    ------------------------------Romero----------------------------
    -----Zanetti---------Demichelis--------Samuel----------Insua-----
    ----------------------------Mascherano--------------------------
    ------------------Banega---------------Cambiasso----------------
    -----Messi------------------------------------------Di Maria------
    -----------------------------Aguero/Higuain------------------------------

A valencia-like formation with emphasis on speed and technique. Not much ball possession but very dangerous counter-attacks.I would prefer this against stronger opponents.

Against weaker teams we could play something like this:

    --------------------------------Romero---------------------------------
    -------Zanetti--------Demichelis---------Samuel--------Insua-----------
    -------------------------------Mascherano-----------------------------
    -------Messi------------------------------------------Di Maria----------
    --------------------------------Dominguez------------------------------
    ------------------Aguero--------------------Higuain/Licha---------------

I can't believe how most of you guys left out Dominguez and Jonas! here is my list

    Andujar
    Romero
    Villar

    Zanetti
    Jonas
    Demicheles
    Samuel
    Pareja
    Otamendi
    Ansaldi

    Mascherano
    Banega
    Cambiasso
    Bolatti
    Perotti
    Di Maria
    Aimar

    Messi
    Aguero
    Dominguez
    Hauche
    Higuain
    Lopez/Barrios

I dont think we need more defenders since Mascherano can play there as well.

    This is my formation

    ---------------Romero
    Jonas----Demi------Samuel----Ansaldi

    --------Mascherano---Banega
    ---------------Dominguez
    Messi------------------------------Di Maria
    -----------------Higuain

Zanetti can sub in for Jonas or Ansaldi and so can Pareja, Otamendi and Pareja can sub in for Samuel or Demi

Bolatti, Cambiasso can play in central roles and Banega can be pushed to playmaker or Aimar or even Perotti who i think can pull strings

Hauche can sub for Messi or Di Maria and so can Aguero and even Perotti can be thrown on either wing for defensive purposes

How is the situation of Zanetti in the squad. Why Maradona didnt call him up in the last games?

Is he still a lock in right back position as starter, or he might not even be in the world cup?

I think Fifa forces you to take 3 goalkeepers.

I like it, I'd place Higauin into the center and replace Milito with Saviola though.

Passarella had the right idea, but then he still left out Redondo even after he cut his hair, eventually costing us the WC. I think Argentina would have won it with Redondo in there. Caniggia also should have started.
