I would have to leave the house at 8:45 in the morning to get to McGillin's by 9.

So I took the day off and was planning on going but now the wife's father is coming home for RR from Iraq that day. How can I tell my wife to F off and that this is more important then her father coming home from Iraq

So yeah I think I am going to have to miss out on this one  Have some beers for me.

I'm not taking the R6 there. As a matter of fact, I'm desperately trying to shave 3 minutes off of Charley's schoolbus pickup so I can catch the 12:22 Rt100 as opposed to the 12:42. If I can catch the 12:22, I could make it to the Convention Center by 1:20. If I can't, I will get there only 20 minutes or so before our first pick. The good news is that the wife is taking a half day from work, and will meet the schoolbus, freeing me up for all the revelry afterwards. Well, most of it anyway...:cool:

I suck. I'm sorry. Any way you can ask the bus driver to come a few minutes earlier that day? our gal is a real doll. she'd do it, so maybe yours would too?

I asked Mr. Joe this afternoon, but he will not be able to accomodate me. Sucks, but it is what it is. If he shows up 2 minutes early, I might be able to scamper over to the train and have just enough time to make it. The R6 is another option, but the trolley is cheaper and easier.

That's a big negatory. If I could, I would be at the pub nice and early with everyone else to celebrate. I'm just glad I have the evening window. There's a chance my wife could get home early enough to take care of it, but there's also a chance that England could be scared about a friendly in Wembley against Red Bull New York.

The only chance I have is if someone is driving to the event from KoP and leaving around 12:30...

Corey, are you planning to take the train from Ambler? I might just meet you guys there in the AM and take the train as opposed to driving all the way into the city from Reading fighting rush hour traffic.

    THIS.

For some reason, I kept thinking this thing was on a day I couldn't make it. But now I think I can!

I have to be at work in Pottstown at about 5, but I might don my snazzy new Authentic Union Jersey (thanks mom-in-law!) and hop on the R6 in Conshohocken in the morning and come to McGillans. My Union-partner-in-crime (my brother) likely won't be able to come (stupid Medical school), so I might be flying solo. But I'm sure at least a few of you are friendly folks.

Anyone else on the R6? If so, which one are you catching?

Yep, I'm out (shocker, I know) ... I had hoped this job would be full-time with bennies by now, and could afford to take a (paid) day off. But it's not, and I don't know when/if it will ever come to that. And with the office closed all those lost days around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, I'm out over a week's pay already and can't really afford to miss out on another 8 hours.

    :(

As an aside, anyone know of any architecture firms in Center City that are hiring?
