So who went to this? No mention of anything in the wonderful newspaper known as the Dispatch, nor on the first-class website thecrew.com. The Metros held their ceremonies last night, and their local papers had the story, but we can't even get a list of winners.

10 fan, I'm pretty sure the ceremony is tonight (10/20). What was that show, Early Edition?

It was this evening and was a very nice event, off the top of my head ::

    MVP - Jon Busch
Defender of the Year - Robin Fraser
Man of the Year - Duncan Oughton
Humanitarian of the Year - Nelson Akwari
Newcomer of the Year - Chad Marshall
    Comeback Player - Mais
    Scoring Champion - Edson Buddle
Goal of the Year - Buddle's blast against the F*re
    Coaches Award - Simon Elliott
Hardest Working Player - Chris Wingert

The one interesting thing about the evening, every single player said that this is the best 'team' they have ever been a part of. Fraser and Elliott both seemed to echo this numerous times during the evening. And everytime a player accepted an award and said a few words, they made a point to say this season was great and all but wouldn't be worth anything without an MLS Cup in the trophy case.

The greatest acceptance speech of the night was Buddle for his "Goal of the Year" award...

"Thanks to Jeff for getting fouled, thanks for Simon for serving a great ball, thanks to Henry for diving to make it look..ya know...real good. So yea, thanks..."

It was a really good night. When Duncan accepted his "man of the year" award he said that on 11/15 they will kick butt. Plus when Simon annouced the whole team he purposely forgot Duncan. It was a great evening all around. Hopefully pictures will be up soon! :) :) :) :)

Dunc was a little off all night long. Between the shades, the M.C. Escher tie, and the comment about the 15th it wasn't a spectacular night for the original Muppet until he won the Man-of-the-Year award.

What the hell is man of the year? Does that mean that St. Dunc drank the most beer, shagged the most women, and farted the loudest? Literally some of these awards seem as enticing as getting a bowl invitation to the MPC Computers Humanitarian Bowl.

I guess so Zak. Who would of thought that Duncan would get the award. In his acceptance speech he stated that he didnt want to talk much because the guys always yell at him for it.
