Are there any players playing in Mexico right now that might be going to Europe soon? Are they playing in the All Star game?
None right now. There were rumors about a kid named Medina who played for Chivas, but I think everyone knows his days as a futbol player are over. By the way, I'm new!
his days as a futbol player are not over, he is a 21yo with a great future ahead of him. there were rumors that medina, alberto ramirez and two others were going to france for next season...dont know if they are true or not tho. BTW bienvenido mr zacarias blanco!
Mexican players going to Europe? Originally posted by Impaled his days as a futbol player are not over, he is a 21yo with a great future ahead of him.. Alberto Medina is 19 years old so he will have plenty of time to recover from his injury and prove that he can be a great player. Cuahtemoc and Ramon Ramirez both had similiar injuries and they have managed to return to the playing fields..
Young Mexican players going to Europe? Originally posted by babaoh Are there any players playing in Mexico right now that might be going to Europe soon? The only offer for a Mexican player recently was for Alberto Medina (19) who has allready been capped in the Senior National team. He is however sidelined for 8 months with torn knee ligaments. Another player that had an offer from a Second Division Club in Spain (Las Palmas) is Aldo DeNigris (18) but he remained in Tigres. Aldo has an Italian passport so if he puts a good performance in the U-20 WC he will have more offers. Finally from the past U-17 tourney both Julio Ceja and Alberto Ramirez were approached by French Clubs. They are being scouted so who knows they are still very young. Then there is Nery Castillo (19) who plays at Olimpiakos. He will be getting called up to the U-23 squad for the pre-Olympics.
Re: Zacarias Blanco Asi es. Zacarias Blanco De La Barra Es de padre norteamericano (E. Charles Blanco) y madre mexico-americana (Sally Mecos De La Barra)
Re: Mexican players going to Europe? As usual, the truth is somewhere in the middle ... Medina turned 20 back in May. Too bad Chivas USA won't happen till 2005; otherwise, he might've played in MLS during his recovery.
Various: what's the story of the kid playing in Greece? Does he have a Greek parent? Was he picked up young? Did he fall off the youth radar (if there is one) in Mexico?
the one playing in Greece is NERY ALBERTO CASTILLO with passport mexicano and Uruguayo, as well as passport 'comunitario' to play in euro ligas as Non-foreigner. Any way the guy lived in Mexico 2yrs, and now is making lots of news! en la Jugada, news cast last night they had the last game in Athens and followed the player until his was subbed. See a thread dedicated to him here.
Mexican players going to Europe? Originally posted by robviii Various: what's the story of the kid playing in Greece? His name is Nery Alberto Castillo and he plays for Olimpiakos. He is also the youngest player to ever be register to the Champions League (i believe last season) And as of late he has been in the radar for the Uruguayan and Mexican National teams.. Does he have a Greek parent? His parents are Uruguayan and he plays in Greece as a EU player because he has an Italian passport. Nery however was born in Mexico when his dad used to play with Real San Luis.. Was he picked up young? Indeed he left to Europe at the age of sixteen. He was picked up from Danubio (Uru) were he played in their reserves. Nery was first targeted by Man U and Arsenal but because of his age and lack of work permitt he couldnt go o the EPL and ended up in the Greek league. Did he fall off the youth radar (if there is one) in Mexico? Well, he was just bron in Mexico and his parents took him back to Uruguay where he became a player. He got in the radar after his old man refused his sons call up to the Uruguayan Nats and urged his son to play for the Mexican National team instead...
