Re: Anton Peterlin to Everton So I still don't know much about this guy's story. How much of a factor was his ability to gain an European passport? Would we be seeing dozens of Peterlins over in Europe if visa restrictions were lax, or am I selling the guy's talents short?
Re: Anton Peterlin to Everton Before going to Everton there was some reported interest from MLS teasm. However I dont believe teams were fighting over him.
Re: Anton Peterlin to Everton He has a Danish passport and apparently from what I read his Ventura County Fusion (PDL) coach helped get him the Everton trial. His coach is an Englishmen who played for a few Football League and Non-League clubs. He recommened Anton to David Moyes. San Jose and Chicago offered him contracts but he signed with Everton instead.
Re: Anton Peterlin to Everton The European passport and a well-connected coach were crucial, since Peterlin's college career was fairly undistinguished (see post #3 of this thread). At this point though it's pretty clear that he has something to offer.
Re: Anton Peterlin to Everton A brief interview with Peterlin from the PAFC website from a few days ago.
Re: Anton Peterlin to Everton Clip from http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/spo...a-victory/article-2428228-detail/article.html But former Everton midfielder Anton Peterlin stood out, with his ability on the ball and awareness of team-mates around him. Peterlin started the game by playing out of position at right-back – and it showed. Finland international winger Joonas Kolkka, who once had a short spell in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, was too good for him. Peterlin soon swapped positions with Karl Duguid, who had been on the right-side of midfield, and he became a factor in the match. One slick pass from the American set up striker Rory Patterson for a fierce shot in the 20th minute, which was saved by Jelle ten Rouwelaar. Peterlin then moved into the centre of midfield in the second half. He slotted into the space vacated by captain Carl Fletcher, who dropped into defence after centre-back Reda Johnson was taken off because of an injury. San Francisco-born Peterlin continued to show his technical ability for the rest of the match. More performances like this on the tour to the Netherlands and he could be given the opportunity to turn his trial into a permanent move. ARGYLE STAR MAN — Anton Peterlin: Struggled out of position at right-back to start with, but much improved after swapping positions with Karl Duguid, and later on in the centre of midfield.

Re: Anton Peterlin to Everton Peterlin started and went 65 minutes in the loss to AZ Alkmaar. He was mentioned in the match report as one of the 2 bright spots for Argyle.
