Always fun when the Quakes play in SF, especially at Kezar because I can walk there.

We won 6-0. It was our "Reserves" vs this club team from the Carribean that was fast and physical but not very good.

I missed the first 25 mins and first 2 goals.

We dominated though ABFC hit the post on a counter early in the 2nd half that they really should have scored on.

    We prob had 80% possession.

It was 3-0 at half, 6-0 final.

    We started with:

    GK - Bingham
LB - Jordan Stewart - he appears to be a very solid pro with intelligent play
CB - Corrales - never say him play as a centerback before. got a nice ovation when taken out late.
CB - Ring - did fine.
RB - Gargan - did fine, might have had an assist or more.
RM - Cato - did fine
CM - Garza* - one of the real top players out there.
CM - Bellouchy* - really bossed the game in the 2nd half from a deep lying mid possession. Reyna esque.
    ?? - McGlynn*
    FW - Tracy*
FW - Jahn - had 2 goals and really looked good at this level where his lack of pace wasn't as apparent. great player tonite, scored 2 goals. Last guy out there signing autographs too.

We also subbed in a GK named Newton and 5 or so kids from the academy team. As they came on the match died off, kind of evened out though ABFC still couldn't generate any chances.

    * = I may have these positions off and we may have moved some guys around at half time.

Again, Garza, Jahn and Ballouchy stood out to me, and I liked what I saw from Jordan Stewart. Ramiro looks healthy and played CB. Those are the highlights.

Good crowd. Merry handful of ultras, and I heard some got ejected though I have no idea why.

    A fun night.

You missed the best player out there - Tommy Thompson. I keep talking about this guy. I think he's 17 or 18, and going to Indiana in the fall, but seriously, he should be the Quakes starting attacking like now.

If you want to see what I'm talking about, check out around 13:20+ in the video. He takes a pass around midfield, dumps it off to Gargan I think, then makes quick, long run into space, receives the ball in the box, and one touches to Jahn for the easy goal. Class!

Then check out around 20:38+. He makes another run into the box, knocks down the pass, goes around a defender or two and nearly connects with Jahn for another goal.

He is also involved in the attacking sequence that leads to Stewart's(?) goal near the end - the 6th goal.

The guy is really, really, really good. He's quick, makes good runs, always looking for space to attack, and the ball sticks to his feet. Too bad that he wants to get an "edumacation". He could be the Quakes first academy signing, and he should be starting.

Dad Gargan sure has a long throw-in when he has a track to give him a long running start.

Thompso must be the guy who I thought was McGlynn. He didn't stand out to me.

Thompson was playing center mid. You may have confused him with Garza a few times. Check out the video at the spots I called out above. I believe he was wearing #19 - he's a little bit shorter guy, slight build with light, almost blondish hair.

McGlynn is the Irish kid, but I thought he was a defender?

The lineup was posted in the reserve league thread. 19 was Thompson, not McGlynn, he played center mid, and he played really well. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The guy's going to be a star. He should be starting for the Quakes at CAM.

Evan Newton has been the Quakes' 3rd-string keeper since last year. Nice to see him get some playing time.

That rumor is not true. Nobody got ejected. We all left for other reasons.

tommy thompson best player on the field for us.

cato looked lively, abusing their fullbacks and constantly beating them 1v1

second half wasn't even a soccer game. players drifting out of position constantly. antigua stopped trying.

he was alright at first but as the game went on and kind of broke down, our midfield was basically walking by antigua's players, so everyone was looking to pad their stats, and no one was really sending service into him or Jahn. i think stewart had more shots than tracy and he was playing LB and then CB... so yeah it was that kind of game.
