Saw him play at the Metro a few months back (edit, I checked: it was May, 2018). He did the entire "Substance" 'compilation' album by Joy Division and a full set of New Order music. It was amazing and the New Order was surprisingly great.
They've been at each others throats for years, unfortunately. This BBC appearance is one of my favorites. It apparently was hot AF in the studio. Barney was pissed off the whole time at whoever was doing the sound and his voice & guitar were out of tune. But it still has the best live version of Temptation IMO (starts around the 23 minute mark)
Alex Jones arrested for DWI in Texas. He must be a real pip when he's wasted. Jones told the deputy he had consumed a bottle of Sake wine while having dinner with his wife at a sushi restaurant at about 8 p.m. Monday, the affidavit said. After getting into an argument with his wife, Jones said he walked home, about three miles away, the document said. When the argument continued at home, he left to go to another of his residences "to get away from his wife." https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/10/us/alex-jones-infowars-dwi-charge/index.html
Is there such a thing as a right-wing agitator who's not a prick in his personal life? It would be strange if there were ...
I suspect that, since most agitators are self-aggrandizing A-hole regardless of their politics, this might actually be a valid "both sides do it" regarding their personal lives. Mind, so long as they're not breaking laws, I grant people quite a bit of leaway in their personal lives.
He's a special kind of Newtown-denying prick. They should've given him a few more bottles and taken him out far away from people and see how many trees he could smash into.
Why!!!!? in other news sarah palin was on the masked singer and i really really think you should watch this pic.twitter.com/KHubv68GM5— j.d. durkin (@jd_durkin) March 12, 2020
Remember how we were/are supposed to consider her an opinion maker? She must have had the talent for autonomously saying what some third party wanted heard. Who would have thought she was less than a lightweight all along?
Sarah-Freakin-Palin! I was hoping her 15 minutes of fame would have been up about 12 years ago! My favorite story about her was when these Montreal morning DJ guys called her up out of the blue and pretended to be Jacques Chirac. Forget for a moment that whenever these big-cheeses call each other, they always arrange a specific time and phone number, etc. No one just picks up the phone and says "hello" and it's the head of state for some country. So this guy keeps telling her that he admires her, and his minister of defence, Jacques Plante had great things to say about her, etc. She's eating it all up. Then he rattles off a few of his other cabinet members, like Guy Lafleur, Maurice Richard, and a bunch of other old Habs players. She had no idea what was going on, until one of them pushed the envelope too far and mentioned the porno movie "Nailin' Palin," and at that point someone on her staff told her to hang up!
"amazing" wasn't exactly the word I was thinking of... Then again, it would be a different flavor of what we have now, a country run by know-nothings.
A McCain Presidency would have been fine if he had managed to avoid starting a war, which granted, would have been a challenge for him.
She would have been better. Less meglomaniac, more honest (there, I said it), more likely to take advice, and perhaps even better informed. Certainly not worse informed.
In a scale of 1 to 10, with ten being the shittiest, craziest, Trump is probably a 200. W was a solid 7-8, and a Palin admin would have surpassed 8 but no way gone over 10.
This Washington State radio station is attempting to combat the trend. It will not air Trump's daily coronavirus pressers, because they contain too many potentially dangerous lies - https://thehill.com/blogs/news/blog...-wont-air-trump-briefings-because-of-false-or
Hmmm, maybe. On the other hand it could be that Trump's coronavirus approval rating is going down in part because people wish to see nonpartisan behavior during a crisis, and for Democrats to appear quietly constructive might be politically beneficial. They can later portray themselves as heroically working to help the country during its time in need, rather than wasting that time posturing. Also, I think it is fair to say that some politicians (on either side) actually do are at the moment mostly about saving lives and/or the economy, as opposed to scoring political points. They are not all monsters like Trump.
Leland Sklar has been banned from FB for 30 days. If he'd been a singer, they would have let him stay.
