Been told the shirt sponsor is doordash so just made a quick adjustment! pic.twitter.com/IUGWFassq4— Teg🤙🏻 (@TobsTheCreator) July 4, 2021 Concept art of Angel City kit long before the official release. This is what it should have been!
I gotta say, this whole pre-expansion-draft-protection thing has worked wonders for both expansion teams, but definitely for Angel City in particular. Their roster before the draft is: Code: — GK DiDi Haracic Bosnia and Herzegovina — DF Sarah Gorden United States — DF Mary Alice Vignola United States — MF Julie Ertz United States — MF Cari Roccaro United States — MF Katie Cousins United States — FW Simone Charley United States — FW Tyler Lussi United States — FW Christen Press United States I don't know much about Vignola/Cousins/Lussi, but the other six form a *DAMN* good core that's already miles ahead of any previous expansion team even after their respective drafts.
Saw on Twitter today that LA is reporting a whopping 13,200 season tickets sold so far... That's absolutely insane. If even half of those show up to every match and there are no walk-ups, LA would still have the second-highest attendance in the league. Only POR (and the inactive UTA) do (did) better - 6,600 would just barely edge what LOU did this year (6,587).
Mark J. Burns @markjburns88 3h Angel City FC has $35 MILLION in contracted sponsorship revenue, says President Julie Uhrman. That’s led by deals with DoorDash (main kit), Birdies (sleeve) and Sprouts (back of shirt). The 2022 expansion team still has not played a single match in the NWSL.
