Don't ask, just try to understand..... I assume this guarantees another 2 years of him because you can't fire him now, right?
Any links to anything official anywhere? I refuse to stick a fork in my eye-sockets until officially confirmed somewhere after the last hoax.
I bet the Columbus "Fan Of The Decade" was sitting there clip vote over and over again. See I can't even type anymore.
If it's any comfort, fellow BS-poster PCC from DC pointed out to me recently that Davey Johnson was named MLB manager of the year on the same day he was fired. Not sure of the year, but I think he was with the Orioles. One of you may want to research that and send clips to your Crew management contacts....
Don't waste your time. Although biologically male, I'm guessing the MLS officials making the final decisions have no testicles...
OK, fine, I'll do it: If Andrulis wins the coach of the year award, I can't see how it's not deserved. He's the head coach of the Supporters' Shield-winning team, a team most picked to miss the playoffs...well, at least not qualify. One can argue, perhaps successfully, that Andrulis got a lot of help in running the team, from assistants to players like Robin Fraser. However, that's the case with most head coaches so it's not like Andrulis is unique in that regard. Putting the hatred for the man aside, it's difficult to argue with awarding him the coach of the year.
To be honest, I'm more pissed off about Dempsey winning rookie of the year. Do voters even watch games or do they just look at the stats? Seriously?
Wow. It's Rongen at DC all over again only without winning a title. Now it's time for the team to be slowly killed off until it's complete sh888t!
Seems many of you are oblivious to the fact that you tied for the best record in the league after starting out poorly....... Just remindin' ya. I'll go back to my own board after the forthcoming attacks, thank you and good luck.
Actually MVP and "of the Year" seems premature... Lets look at this from a +/- perspective, hoping to be fair. Start at -3 for the 2003 season fiasco. +3 for acquiring Fraser, Elliot, Marshall who start and end up being positive -1 for acquiring Scott, Testo and Lagos who don't -2 for horrible start to season -1 for humbled 1st Open Cup game, 2nd a loss and exit from Open Cup 0 for Denton/Wingert (+1 for playing him, -1 for taking so long) 0 for Martino up top 0 for Paule +1 for pickup of Szetela +1 for pickup of Sanneh 0 for pickup of Washington (moral victory over DC) +1 for MLS undefeated streak +5 for best regular season performance and "Supporters Shield" -3 for horrific early exit from playoffs Does these numbers seem fair to everybody? I think so. That leaves GA with a +1 (or a +4 if you leave out the 2003). Will someone from KC and DC do one for Nowak and Gansler? I'd be interested in seeing the results. The rookie of the year decision doesn't suprise me, and none of you should be suprised, either. Anyone who knows the game will tell you Chad Marshall is a better player and had a better year in the league. Of course the "sportswriters" who vote for this stuff just hear about Dempsey scoring and think that he's the best rookie. I honestly wouldn't be suprised if Freddy Adu got more votes than Chad Marshall. The bigger disappointment (to me) is that Chad Marshall isn't in the United States camp in Columbus this week. I was told way back that he would be callen in "later in the year" but the ankle injury must be bad enough to keep him out of this camp.
I don't know how many times I have to post this, but let's try it again... He has a cast on his foot. He got an injury fixed after the season ended that he played with literally since the very beginning fo the year. A broken bone in his foot of some sort. If he didn't have that cast on his foot he would have been called in...
Since the Coach of the Year award is a regular-season award, you really can't bitch too much. The Crew had a good regular season.
