Havertz seems to be coming good, somewhat... that's the kind of thing that needs to go their way to win the league. That said Raya does not seem to inspire tons of confidence IMO...
- Shitty draw 3 games in a row, unable to hold leads in any of them - Carragher and Neville comment on it - Baldy G, as usual for him, makes snarky comments about them in his presser, mentions that Carra never won the PL - Carra responds: "I think I’d have probably won one if Liverpool were owned by a nation state, and pushed the rules so far that the PL charged us 115 times!!" nice retort, but it pisses me off that all the pundits don't mention it every time MC is being discussed.
Doesn't seem that any of the GK's signed this summer (Sanchez, Raya, Onana) are inspiring much of anything.
That's not a surprise - is it? None were considered top caliber last season - and Onana was a head-scratcher from day 1. They could have had him for free in Ten Hag's first year...but then spent 50m+ on him.
Some interesting games today: Villa v. 115'ers - could do with Villa grabbing points. Manure v. Chelsaudi - win win situation here tomorrow - Everton v. Saudi - who to root for?
Rodri is out again here... that's not a good one for him to miss, In Villa Park.. don't be too surprised if Villa pull off a draw. Ollie Watkins to score again....
Who is his agent? Same as seven Hag's? There was some earlier kerfluffle about the amount of money being directed through Kees Vos's agency.
I switched over after our game and Villa have been outstanding. They deserve their lead. Now let’s hope they hold on.
Liverpool 4 points ahead of City. Until proven otherwise, where we stand in relation to City is the only thing that matters in that table
The 22 shots Villa fired at Ederson's goal are the most Pep Guardiola has seen his side face since taking over at City, whose meagre two efforts in total was a fair reflection of the hosts' superiority. City once again missed the influence of the suspended Rodri, having lost their last five games when the Spaniard has been unavailable.
Emery in his niche it seems. dunno if they have the bench that'll keep it going all season. the Euro Conf is a slog.
have you finished that cup of coffee already, Richie? that was fast! Brazil forward Richarlison is a target for Saudi Pro League clubs but Tottenham are unlikely to sell the 26-year-old unless they can earn back at least the £60m they paid to sign him from Everton
Well done Aston Villa! Third spot...and a win against "the Champions" (as the commentators remind us every time they get the chance)
Shame that MC's next 5 PL games are against weak teams, chance for them to ramp up the points and get organized again ... Luton, CP, Brentford, Everton, SU.
