Bruce had great successes with us...I think Poitr is the best we have had since, but its early days in his stay with United....
There is only one choice here and that Da Bruce. If Peter gets two more MLS Cups and an interamerica than we can talk
This isn't even a fair poll. The poll should be how much Piotr has to do to even be mentioned with Bruce. I agree that Nowak is the best coach we've had since Bruce...but Rongen won a title in his first year here too.
The 1999 team was mostly the same team that just had been screwed in MLS Cup '98, won the CONCACAF Champions Cup, and won the Interamerican Cup. They wanted their MLS title back. After that the team was slowly sold for parts.
This shouldn't even be a poll. Not even a poll for second best coach. Maybe, a poll for third best coach? Nope! 1. Arena: MLS-2, CONCACAF-1, Interamerican-1, US Open-1 2. Nowak: MLS-1 3. Rongen: MLS-1 4. Hudson:Best quotes!
I'd like to see this poll in another two years, though. I think Piotr has a chance to rival Bruce. However, he's not there yet... --kravi
Exactly. Nowak cobbled together a damn good team from the slow wreckage that had coalesced under Rongen/Hudson. He would definitely be second in this list, and for my money, he's second only because Arena made us a dynasty from jumpstreet. I'd like to see Arena take over a club in crisis/rebuilding/flux/whatever you want to call it, and see how well he would do (I don't count the USMNT cuz he's not with them week in, week out).
Its a valid argument that Bruce is the Greatest League and Nats Coach in the history of Us Soccer...PERIOD
