Woah, picture people on BigSoccer owning their own Nepalese soccer teams. The ultimate fantasy league!

So if everyone who posted in this thread chipped in $100, we could own a Nepalese soccer team?

    I'd do it if:

    1) We became club board members, with voting rights.

    2) Said board would have final approval of all signings and releases.

    3) The name of the club was Nepali Big Soccer United

Count me in also. Now we only need 47 more "investors".

I'm in for $100, maybe more if the team looks like it's going places. But I think the team should be called the "Fighting Yaks".

A couple of years ago my dart team was "Yak Attack". I was the "Unshaven Yak".

Count me in - but I want "Emerald City Gazette" as a uniform sponsor!

It'll be the only Nepalese soccer team with their own American fanzine!

$100 to support such a great cause, of course I'm in.

Nepali Big Soccer United - Nepalese champions, 2005.

I'm in, 100 dollars it is....as long as we have voting rights of some sort...wow I can just imagine.

Friend: I just got an internship for my major.
Me: I own a soccer team in Nepal.

Friend: My car is better than your piece of crap.
Me: I own a soccer team in Nepal.

Guys, I am so in on the team

I anyone actually gets off their butts to do something, you've got an investor here.

We could schedule friendlies before qualifiers at the Azteca, a round robin with BigSoccer Kathmandu, US, and Bolivia. Get those boys acclimated.

Why not also schedule friendlies against the Chinese Mens National Team every year.

We could even send over 100 of those plastic horns to be distributed to the fans to encourage support for the club. ;)

wait, even the people of Napal would probably not like the second idea........

This is even better than buying that 2 ft by 2 ft "Real Western Ranch" from the back of a comic book!

    Count me in.

Anybody called Nike about the shirt contract?

Seriously, I would love to have a jersey that said Kathmandu on it. I'm probably not alone. If the team name and design was clever enough, you could make some money to support this team by selling "licensed" products at a website.

Hmm...I could change my BigSoccer Name from QuakeAttack to YakAttack in support of Nepal Football.

I predict one of the Americans will pull an "Andy Shue" and be the star of the new reality series "An American in Nepal". Afterwards, he can play for the Galaxy in place of Hartman...

Maybe we could try to encourage former American MLS players to come over and play for a year. :D

I think Brandon Pollard could successfully run a bakery and play semi-professional soccer in Nepal. He should be the first signing.

    Nepal trip

This thread is great! I am actually leaving for a trip to Nepal on October 27th for 2 weeks. One of my goals will now be to find soccer merchandise while I'm there!

Maybe I'll scope out locations for a new SSS for the Big Soccer Club to play in. :)

Why don't *we* play for the club? Hah. I sure as hell would, if it got me room and board for a while.

Just think, when someone starts bragging at some swank party when you're old about what they've done you can say, "I lived in Nepal for a few years, where I was a professional soccer player."
