Really happy for him! Felt like he stagnated at San Jose.

Cade has been well received by the fans, many see his potential and clearly see he has physical presence just needs to keep improving in his touch and decision making (which we see he clearly is making progress).
He is part of team that is well insulated with the presence of NT caliber players and the presence of Chicharito. The team is going into it's toughest weeks of the season, if they can take points away from it's biggest rival and Cruz Azul they will be sitting pretty in the top spots by mid march.

He has a decent, albeit inconsistent touch. But is he can improve his decision making, coupled with his physical qualities...man oh man he'll be a player.

the potential is there, we all see it. He is in a good place to get sharp so let's see how it goes.

I hope he takes the next step down in Mexico.

Can't say I saw much/any improvement his 4 seasons in MLS. Which, between the ages of 16-20 is a concern. You'd expect a player to improve steadily at those ages. Though with his tremendous athleticism the floor was always pretty high.

He might be the type who excels under greater pressure and expectation, which he has at Chivas.

At SJ he was afforded the opportunity to be sloppy without any real consequence. Thus far this looks like a real good move for him. People underrate the atmosphere and spotlight playing for a club like Chivas. Media is all over you. In the Bay Area the Earthquakes are relatively non existent with the sports media.

Having been to a few Quakes games...high school soccer has more atmosphere

Weirdly the atmosphere was better when they actually played in a high school stadium.

You just unlocked a long dormant memory of going to Buck Shaw and yes -- I do remember more noise and life and vibrancy there than Avaya lol

FWIW I did see a USMNT game against Honduras at Avaya and that was a great atmosphere. Clearly the fanbase is there, they just struggle to attract people. The South Bay is a terrible place for sports stadiums IMO

California in general lacks the stadium-going sports fans. There are some exceptions (Lakers, LAFC, etc), but it seems like people here would rather do the outdoors thing than deal with traffic and the expenses of going to a game.

Oh nice! I was there too. Were you at the Outlaw event the night before? I caught Alexi and Donovan from the taco truck, and even snagged Alexi's phone. Most epic soccer day in my life.

Lol, no, but I did run into Jeff Agoos and he seemed a bit surprised I recognized him. Had a nice chat. But agreed, it was a great event, got a ton of fun free swag pregame. Too bad club teams fail to replicate that kind of event. Actually sold a pair of extra tickets to two guys from BigSoccer who came down from Alaska for it o_O

The Sacramento Kings had the longest sellout streak in NBA history and they sucked. Warriors games are electric. Raiders games in Oakland had real energy.

The problem is the Earthquakes are a terribly run organization with zero culture or community relations. CA isn’t the problem or lack of would be fans.

The Dodgers' attendance was 550,000 higher than any other team in baseball last year.

    Second place was San Diego.

"California doesn't have stadium-going sports fans" is a hilarious take.

Dodgers have the biggest stadium in baseball besides Oakland (for more context)

I think it's wonderful that he's been so warmly embraced by the Chivas fanbase.

I was always more bullish on this move than many here, although I understand the initial disappointment of him not going directly to Europe. I remain cautiously optimistic that the increased pressure of playing at Chivas and the potential of the Mexican system to improve his tactical/technical ability is exactly what someone with his physical attributes needed.

I also like that Liga Mx isn't too much of a step up for him at this point in his development and that he's getting some time at striker (which might be a better position for him going forward).

He came on in the 69th but by then Chivas was already down to 10 men. They lost 0-3.
