    I play a 4-3-3 with a false 9.
My back-4 will play cohesive alternating marks according the situation, avoiding a flat defense, since Romario was a master breaking offside, also with the FBs covering the central areas when needed.

Moreno and Zizinho will be CMs, running up and down the midfield, helping Obdulio in the defensive phase and joining attacks when in possesion.

Upfront, we'll try to attack spaces in between defenses, exploting through balls.

To face @msioux75 I'll present this 3-4-3/5-3-2 system:

In front of Buffon I put a 3-men defensive line with Scirea as an advanced libero ahead of the centre-backs (Ramos and Thuram) to shorten the transit space of Schiaffino as false 9. Meanwhile, Cabrini and Sosa will be my wing-backs predisposed to the offensive to add width to my midfield and avoid entanglements in that area.

In midfield both, Davids and Charlton, will make the sacrifice as box-to-box to try press and recover quickly to initiate controlled ball attacks. Rivaldo and Maradona will again free-role trequartistas enabled to join this midfield to try to take control of this area and to join the attack in combination with Romário.

    hmmm!
You will not play with a proper DM!!! Scirea wasn't I think, also he used to play the free role, not a man-marking task.

I see, defensive problems for Charlton, too, following Moreno when he attacks.

Since you attack with three men, one of my fullbacks can go forward (alternating each other), since I'll have four men to cover your counters.

Scirea won't take a DM role, but libero (mentioned above). He neither does implicitly have a man-marking task (which I don't think was appropiate in front of a false 9 with characteristics like Schiaffino's), but a defender who covers the area and use it for clean outputs with the ball at his feet.

I don't think so. While it's true that with Charlton as an attacking box-to-box midfielder I'm suggesting more offensive pressure than defensive, it seems to me that the balance is very similar with Moreno, who was not exactly a box-to-box midfielder, so I bet to keep him busier in containment tasks and thus reduce his attack influence.

To be honest, I know there is a model idea about Zizinho and Moreno as all-round midfielders, able to attack and defend in equal measure, especially among us, latinos, which I think is a gray area about which not much is known and that I guess is a little exaggerated by a certain way of describing them (especially about Zizinho). Of course, here we would speculate, but it seems to me that both, although they could perform complementary defensive functions, were not so adept at that task, not enough for an ideal balance while playing at the same time in front of Varela like lonely anchor man (AM-DM-AM: Zizinho-Varela-Moreno).

My intention is to try to attack that imbalance (in my opinion) with Charlton in a similar task (an attacking midfielder able to play defensive sacrifice) but accompanied by Davids to ensure a real box-to-box player that puts more pressure on recovery and generate more direct attacks from midfield exceeding Varela's capacity to cover.

As your defense is one of the strongest of the tournament, I think this mechanism can generate a better offensive volume for me aiming to break that line.

In addition to the above, I will play with 2 wing-backs (Cabrini and Sosa) in an advanced position when I'm attacking precisely to try to keep your side-back busy and block them near the midline when defending.

So, I'm understand you're playing with no DM at all, but two CMs as your first line of midfielders (two very offensive ones).

Meanwhile, my CMs will have a complimentary defensive role, so they could play free without pressure themselves (defensive-offensive tasks).
