    What's the odds he'll be a commissioner's pick, I wonder.

So, which Crew player will be added as the other Commissioner's Selection to join Adu?

My guess is one of Hejduk, Henderson, Buddle, or Elliott, in that order.

Fan picks who lost out after players/media/coaches were added to the voting mix:

    Freddy Adu
    Cobi Jones
    Frankie Hejduk
    Chris Albright

Not a whole lot of defense on that team. Hope Reis does his Kasey keller impression.

    Yeah, I've lost a few too. :)

Looking at that midfield, I think that's gonna push Donovan out to a wing...therefore, I'm not expecting great things from him in this game. :(

So BigSoccer now subscribes to the "What have you done for me lately" philosophy?

Yeah, Cadaver. Seriously, you're one step (ok, 2) above newbie status. Watch your step!

Man, I used to be able to whip my weight around and get ppl an extra nipple or take one away. Ah, but that was yesterday, when all my nip troubles seemed so far away. Now I need a place to hide away. Oh I believe in yesterday.

How I long for yesterday. :(

Well, I guess that's the last time I'm going to pin my entire self-esteem to a series of green dots.

This is the most important news in that article, IMO:

    Referring to EJ, of course.

I think all those guys deserve to be all-stars (all-stars or all-star reserves), except Eddie Johnson. He's just missed way to many games. At the rate he's gone he'll play in 18 games by the end of the season and have 10 goals and 2 assists. While I bet he won't get turf toe again in the second half, he's just missed too much time in the first half to be an all-star in my opinion. Also here's my lineup:

    Johnson-Ruiz
    Donovan-Guevara-O'Brien
    Dempsey-Joseph
    Conrad-Pope-Vanney
    Reis

Also I hope Colin Clarke doesn't make any stupid picks for the all-star bench. The only two all-star candidates left on his squad: Scott Garlick and Simo Valakari would be worthy all-star reserves, but I wouldn't want them on the first team bench.

I think we'll see a very good All-Star match. A couple defenders and that's a team that could compete in many leagues. I just pray that Sanneh, Armas and Hejduk are only watching the match from the stands. I think Adu will be a commish's pick, which is a smart move from a PR standpoint. I'd like to see Gaven, Jaqua, Marshall, Burciaga, Mastroeni, and Ching in the squad.

Sanneh has no chance in hell, as he's only played 9 games. Armas might have a shot at the reserve squad. Hejduk hasn't been too bad.

Hmm..... In some ways, I can't argue with that except that how can you really penalize someone because of injury? He showed in the games he played that he more than deserves to be there if healthy. And if not, someone will be put in his place - probably Noonan or someone else deserving.

I don't think Scott will be called, but Simo probably will be.

Why can't you? If forward A has scored 6 goals in 8 games, but forward B has scored 11 goals in 18 games, who is more worthy?

Unless there is some amerliorating factor, six in 8. Practically a goal a game.

Well, sorry, but to some people it matters how many games you've played, thus your impact.
