A little uncalled for. Considering a number of regular posters in this forum have expressed the same thing, I don't think he's trolling.

A co-worker did, but that's not why I responded that way.

If you're not a Kansas City fan, you don't have permission to criticize the logo - or anything about the team, really - and particularly not in a thread about the stadium.

Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion

I wasnt trolling...it was just my opinion b/c i think the wizards deserve a much better logo than just simple text and the jersey sponsor would bring more money in but ill keep my opinions to myself in this forum from now on b/c that was very rude

P.S - to the prick that started the whole thing the logo started from one of your members posting a quote about the FO starting new branding exercises

While I realize this is getting off topic from the stadium discussion (maybe that makes this post an intermission while we all wait for some good news on that), our logo is actually pretty decent compared to some of the others around the league that typically receive all the scoffing (I won't mention them in case any Massachusetts or Ohio residents are trolling on here). ;)

Re: "Close on Both": Wizards Stadium Discussion

As the prick that started this whole thing, let me respond.

I don't have a problem with people who support other teams coming into our forum and participating in the debate and exchange of ideas - as long as they bring something real and substantial to the table.

Popping in and saying "The Wizards need a new logo and a sponsor" doesn't bring anything substantial to the table. Hell, some among us have even said as much. (Here's one thread where we are discussing it. Here's another - this one's even on the front page. This thread is even a tangential place that we're discussing stuff like this. And that's just the Logo/Branding side of things.)

Could I have said what I said originally in a little more polite manner? Possibly. Do I care? Not a bit. Without our support of our team's existence in this league through the previous 15 years - its logo and lack of a jersey sponsor included - you wouldn't even HAVE a team in MLS to support. I ask only that you respect that fact.

You think that the Wizards could use a new logo and a shirt sponsor? Great! If you have specific ideas as to ways to improve the brand, or specific ideas of companies or industries that would be appropriate, then post them here and let us discuss them... If you just think that we need to change them, then show our club the respect it deserves and keep your mouth shut.

Nothing would be better for Christmas than some kind of announcement about a groundbreaking ceremony within the next two weeks....frozen ground or not!

<bordom>I just cannot wait until the ground breaking.

It is going to be so awesome.

I am sure we can get somebody to play Killing Me Softly on the bagpipes while a major major celebrity like David Cook does the honors. I also think when we move, that the new Wizards anthem should become 'I will always love you' as sung by the very lovely Celine Dion. This would be a unique way for the Cauldron to celebrate our Adonises in Blue.

    Better than awesome. Awelots.

All I want at the new stadium is to be able to keep my Diet Pepsi bottle caps so I can throw them at opposing players during the game. I want a fancy ass glass roof so when it is 95f in July it can magnify the heat and make people go blind and we can finally get some press coverage.</bordom>

<still bored>So where is this stadium going to be again?

I truly hope that Pez was just making a joke that dates back to the PC (Pre-CAB) days, when the thought was that the Wizards were going to renovate the Raymore-Peculiar stadium as a temporary site after Arrowhead became off-limits.

This isn't the first time the Raymore location has come up. A couple of years ago it was in the mix as one of the possible temporary locations, IIRC. If they're referring to it now as a stadium site, I would say that's very speculative. Personally I don't see how they can make that work. Lee's Summit would be at least on the fringes of what's advisable or feasible, whereas poking around in Raymore, if true, would smell just a bit of desperation.

Yes, Ray-Pec HS was on a list of 6 potential sites.

And I agree, Raymore would just lead to thoughts of Frisco in everyone's head (although CAB isn't exactly tons better)...

Wow....I can't believe people actually believe Raymore is now in the mix.

Boredom is a scary thing sometimes.
