Zidane never "recovered" Casemiro, Casemiro like Vinicius came to the club as a teenager and needed time and patience to developed. By the time Zidane had him he had three seasons in Europe and already collected a CL medal and was entering his prime. Ditto Vinicius who isn't "recovering, he's "developing" (and the only reason he's even being given half a chance is because Zidane's hand was forced due to injuries, form, etc).
I give credit when credit is due. Zidane created casemiro. Probably the best DM in the world now days.
Hmm. I can't agree with that statement. You are taking all the credit away from Casemiro for his own accomplishments. He had to have shown potential for Madrid to sign him. He also did well in Porto and came back an experienced player. Did Zidane help his growth? Absolutely. But he was no scrub before Zidane and he is a tremendous worker and professional. With or without Zidane, Casemiro would have had a successful career
Lol at a he had collected a CL medal, collecting it was the only thing he did in that CL run (2014). He went to Porto and came back stronger, but until Zizou came, almost everyone had doubts about him being RM quality, even Zizou didn't use him right away, it was still a bold decision to make him part of the starting XI, considering our stacked squad (BBC meant 3 midfielders... while we had a much younger Kroos, Modric, Isco, James etc.) but he believed in him and the rest is history.

Casemiro played a great game in 2014 against Dortmund when we were protecting a second leg lead, it was in many ways his coming out game. And there were many of us who believed in him all along, although we can blame Flo for another head scratcher - selling him and then buying back for more. He was competing against nobody for all practical purposes because there were no other DM's in the squad, it was pretty well understood that we needed a 4 man midfield without a DM but used a 3 man formation because it best suited Ronaldo. That in between we brought in Rafa Benitez with his 5 man midfield is another story altogether.
I get it we all have our likes and dislikes, be it Perez, Zidane or Ronaldo etc.. But just because we dislike someone let's not spew bullshit. Casemiro was sold because Carlo Ancelloti wasn't really keen on him. It was Rafa Benitez who decided to get him back. And most importantly it was Zidane who made Casemiro the undisputed starter. If Perez was a total head case like some of you think then he would have just sold him. What's the need of buyback clause ? We sold him for 6M and got him back for around 7.2-7.5M. Not a bad deal. Considering the fact that in most cases players spend entire season on bench if it's just a loan deal. Both Zidane and Perez have their drawbacks. And both deserve a fair share of criticism. But we should also give them the credit for the success we have had. And in Casemiro's case Zidane deserves all the credit.
We conceded two early goals in that match and Case played for 17 minutes... He was nowhere on the map in that season. Barely any relevance to La Decima. The rest is some revisionist history, in his first season, esp. after we saw him come on as a sub here and there, most folks questioned the transfer, although it was a small sum. I remember Brazilian posters saying that he was one of those promising talents that went to nowhere, and got irrelevant, and even they were surprised at his signing. He changed as much as Dani during his time abroad, and returned as a new player, but unlike Dani, it still took him a while to find a spot for himself. Zizou believed in him, and soon we got 11th, 12th and 13th.
Bs. We signed James and Kroos that summer and it Xabi was projected to be starter. Carlo had almost zero say on transfers or it would have been Bale who was sent packing. Well the maybe Zidane can just play himself or one of his sons since Casemiro is totally irrelevant here.. Like I said some of us saw the potential way back then, just because other people were wrong doesn't mean nobody believed in him.
Oops, wrong thread. I'm looking for the Vinicius one. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

A few weeks ago it was "he's for triathlon, runs, gets on his bike (stepovers), then dives inside the area". It's typical spanish newspaper reporting really.
Vinicius shooting technique looks just fine in the low pressure atmosphere of training. Bale also looked pretty lethal.
Looking for the real thing, when the pressure is on and the opposition is actually actively trying to stop you from scoring, and this isn’t just about Vinicius but about all of them
