man, Mia was hungry today. I thought she's score for sure. Oh well, we won.

Wish we had updates on the other games.

    Yep

Somewhere in Matchtracker history (today) is a note that Sweden and Canada tied 1-1.

Congrats to the US....and to Joy on her super game!

Ha! and Kristine shut out Dagny! :D (or was that Joy? :))

I must say, US Soccer's match tracker is a hell of a lot better than WUSA'S! They actually have some decent commentary, whereas WUSA's just has boringly stated facts.

ok, time to get off this damn thing and go get some stuff done around here!

Sorry...I'll put the next PBP thread in FCM instead of here.

    Here! Here!

Should the MatchTracker person actually read this thread..or anyone connected to that person.. I hope that this sentiment is extended heavily.... and oh, hey..to the entire USSF for providing us not-in-Portugal-ers with the opportunity to gleen information about the match..... as we wait patiently for a full game summary.

THANK YOU Might MatchTracker person :D

I am happy to see that the US (Mia) got caught offside a few times today. That is a sign of an aggressive offense. Someone mentioned "greedy" and that is good for a forward. I was more disappointed in the fact that the US had no offside calls against Canada than I am about a few calls today. The forwards have to strectch the defense to its limit and beyond. Make them worry about the missed offside call that could lead to a breakaway.

Here are two Algarve different articles by Christopher Clarey. The first is in the New York Times (if you need to sign in, try Member ID: bigsoccer1 Password: bigsoccer)

    U.S. Breezes Past Norway

The second is in the International Herald Tribune. Note: this is a 3 page article; you need to click on the very faint "next page" under the last column of text.
