Crazy stuff. Rangers just signed George Hagi's son Ianis for the rest of the season, he's a good little player so should help them. Still have nightmares from what his dad did to us in 94, he was such a underrated player and that Romania team was pretty damn good.
Did you REAALLLLYYY have to remind us of '94? Here's a tip: next time you feel like talking about that WC - don't!
how old were you in 1994? Or any of you? To remember it we had a better shot at winning the last 2 cups than the one in the US with better roster and coach. Sadly in both we lost our best player and questionable reffing
I was 15 in 1994. I was actually in Medellin for the summer visiting family. That week was crazy bc of the OJ Simpson white ford broncho chase was around that same time taking up all the news. After the Romania and USA games, I just remember hearing people in the street being very pissed and throwing bottles into the street etc. Imagine if bigsoccer.com was around back then? LOL
Just consider it a group therapy session for a bunch of people that share a common trauma. Release the demons!
I was 17 at that time. I had just recovered from 90' Italy (I still remember that too) and the expectations were really high. I was here in Europe watching the games but the final I saw in Colombia as I was there on vacation.
I was 20 in the middle of my college co-op living in Chicago. @Furnaccio brought back some memories....OJ chase was amazing to watch becaue it was one of the 1st reality shows live before our eyes.... damn, what a freaking crazy week...... and of course Romania and Hagi....uggghhhh, nightmare....
I've watched Colombia live twice. vs USA and vs Romania. Old wounds? Naaaahhh!!! LOL!!!! /cry I guess I am old. I was almost 21 back then.
Alfredo Morelos talking about the racist abuse he’s received in an exclusive interview with @SkySports What a sad indictment on Scottish football this is. pic.twitter.com/gHrwKbmEm1— Derek Clark (@derekclarksport) February 3, 2020
What Rangers star Alfredo Morelos really said as Sky interview is slammed over translationhttps://t.co/pEdPw8kyc2 pic.twitter.com/yXR659gEFJ— Daily Record Sport (@Record_Sport) February 4, 2020
Interesting, I was reading what was being translated as he was saying things and in the small clip it wasn't matching up.
Didn't see the match (didn't score today) but he hasn't been playing well lately. Missing good chances, losing the ball, can't get past defenders and so on.
Still no goals for Morelos but the match was entertaining as hell. Rangers made a comeback from 0-2 and won 3-2. Morelos was a bit unlucky, on one ocasion the ball was cleared from the goal line. The he had couple of 1v1 with the goalie but the goalkeeper saved his shots.
Yeah he was pretty unlucky to not score, the chances he had weren't exactly easy chances and he forced the goalie into good saves. The team is faltering a little bit in the league so this big come back win is really valuable. The game in Portugal should be a fire cracker.
He is getting cold at the worst possible moment. I would not be surprised if he is not called up in March. That said, at least he has not gotten a red card lately.
I think it would be a big, big surprise if he wasn't called up in March and rightly so. I don't know who else is going to be the other 9 aside from Duvan that would take his place, and CQ seems to have ear marked him for that spot, and its absolutely deserved. Morelos from what I've seen has not been playing badly, goals are very deceptive, sometimes they go in other times they don't but he continuously gets in good positions to score which is the key factor. Morelos did get a yellow last game, but it was complete utter bullshit and never should have been a card. I think he needs to improve in his emotional control for sure, but I think he definitely suffers due to his reputation and inherent racism, I doubt he gets targeted as much playing in South America by refs.
I said earlier that he has played well. By that I meant he hasn't been at his absolute best. Yesterday's performance was better. Right now Colombia is out of in-form strikers. Morelos should definitely get called up. I can't predict his future but all his flaws are something that can, and will get fixed. He is a bit crazy but the talent is there.
Santos Borre was used as a #9 and I think CQ strictly sees him as such unfortunately. Jhon Crodoba was on the initial call list last FIFA date before his name was cut from the actual roster list. And in my opinion he is playing better in a better league and is a better target man within the current CQ tactics. I am not saying Morelos will be left off. Just saying he is getting cold at the wrong time and that I would not be surprised to see him not on the squad if he keeps this up.
