    Foreign restrictions on A-League rosters may have been a barrier. it's very limited, IIRC.

    He's about 12 months away from Australian citizenship. But yes, you're right it is hard for foreigners in the A-league with a 5-foreigner limit. That played a role

    On the roster for 2015:

    Alex brings that much needed experience which the side requires. After stints with A League clubs Wellington Phoenix and Gold Coast United, Alex is looking to return to A League on the back of a successful year with the Heat. Alex is a quality midfielder with an eye for goal and brings his teammates into the game at any opportunity.​
