He was directly at fault for both Nacional goals. Definitely looks very green, missed controlled balls and slips a lot. Definitely needs to get adjusted to the European game. Very green. Hopefully Boa Vista are patient with him.
Transfer market still open they’re definitely going to be pushing for the champions league with all the investment that’s coming but they will probably end up in the Europa league spot biggest disappointment this season is Sporting imo
He still getting adjusted plus this club only retained three players from last season so they’re still getting used to each other but in my opinion he’ll be starting for this club for the for seeable future given his attributes
3-3 not bad against Nacional a team in Madeira island that just got promoted and are very difficult at home historically in the first division it took Benfica 10 years to finally get a victory there years ago And usually do good in the first division the season they got relegated they were absolutely horrible though but they look like they have a good side this year Gomez will definitely be starting for this club and alternating with Dulanto (Peruvian) and The other CB Chicodze with alternate with Adil Rami of France Also today or tomorrow the club is going to announce Alberth Elis. Angel Gomes also picked up three assists today!!!
How can you be sure of that after he literally bombed the game through and through for himself and his side? Local fans are already putting the kid on blast on social media. He's not anywhere near ready for first tier Portuguese football. He needs to be sent to the U23 team to develop his skills before dreaming of being a starter. Going too fast will only ruin his career.
He is playing in a country where Joao Felix went from the b team to Atlético Madrid for 120M € in 1 season in Portugal he can make mistakes and learn from it that’s because he is in Portugal at Boavista and not starting for a Barcelona Also this team has no rhythm yet and still a manged a draw and it took a last minute goal to lose Early days still
Hmmm Players like João Félix have no equal in the Mexican football so you can't really compare. Players can make mistakes, it's undetrstood but they can't make too many mistakes and today his mistakes cost his team 2 points. Regarding your relaxed approached to players making mistakes in Portugal, well if you want to secure a CL spot like you mentioning in another post you can't have too many of those blunders if you want to stand a chance, especially when your opponents are Benfica, Porto, Braga and Sporting. Honestly, if he had done those mistakes for the Mexican NT you'd hate his guts right now. He was given a chance and he bombed it. He probably will given other chances but he will have to do better otherwise I'm afraid he will be shipped back in February.
I think you’re over exaggerating. He just said it’s been 1 game and everyone is practically new. I don’t think anyone watched the game. Did you? I’d like to see some comments about their fan base that you mentioned earlier or possibly game highlights. Any links? Thanks.
I watched the game. Boavista was good attacking overall. Gomez did make glaring mistakes. He needs to get adjusted to this new level of play.
Just saw the highlights. 1st goal was a big mistake. He clearly did not anticipate the speed of the forward/wing player that pressed him. Second he slipped and 3rd goal I’m not sure how he was involved. based on highlights, the game looked fast. So I understand your comment. It will definitely take some time especially since he didn’t play much in Liga MX with Atlas.
only the first two he was involved. other than that he had some good passing, but he seemed too damn nervous all game.
Calm down guy. He looked nervous but he’s very young. Also he was at fault for two goals but his team came back and wasn’t able to hold the lead in the dying minutes. I’m hoping his coach doesn’t have impulsive opinions and reactions like you. He may or may not have the tools to make it but it’s a bit too early...time will tell. Por eso estamos como estamos en nuestro futbol Liga MX....young guys don’t get a chance to make mistakes and grow from them.
Boavista just signed Sebastian Perez from Boca Juniors and are announcing Alberth Elis today also the manager of Boavista rates Gomez quite highly and the other CB (Rami) isn’t match fit and Dulanto is the other CB
I watched the game in full, and yes he did pretty poor and not just on the conceded goals. It the attacking line first game too, but they did pretty well IMO. Check the Boavista's IG page https://www.instagram.com/p/CFU2r9-hM7M/ It's already been hijacked by loads of paisas. Portuguese people are going to hate us
