London Calling is one of the great artistic coups of all time. Tearing apart DSOM is blasphemy. I tried to tell you....

Like many here, I would guess, I've been listening to this record quite a bit over the last few months.

If may offer up some obvious thoughts on the voting: Clearly the final three songs -- Guns of Brixton, London Calling and Clampdown -- are three of the most overtly political songs on the record, except for maybe Spanish Bombs.

But Brixton and Clampdown are the most personal of these -- they speak to you. What are you gonna do? How are you gonna come? You got someone to boss around now. Insert "the personal is the political" philosophical tract here.

All the static that some of the crankier posters gave to Guns of Brixton's high ranking stems from the music. It's not the greatest tune. But obviously a lot of this voting went on feeling rather than strictly musical and lyrical quality.

Clampdown is probably the Clashiest of all Clash tunes. It's angry, it's vital, it's personal, it's a call to action, and it rocks like hell.

That said, I'm voting it off.

London Calling has been played to death, it's the title song and most people are probably kind of sick of it. But it is the most epic Clash song ever. It's sound and it's lyric is bigger than just you and me. It's prophetic, it's paranoid, it's howling, it's apocalyptic. There's a reason it's the title song of one of the greatest albums ever.

    London Calling should win.

Just the intro to London Calling is enough to be called "epic". It still gets me every time.
    It should.

The guitar in the intro of London Calling is by far my favorite riff of all time. So simple yet so perfect.

    So the winner is Clampdown.

Well, I'd voted on a different thread, but I'm for The Boss' Born to Run.
