Sad news. Always looked to me like Gerrard's chubby little brother. Good guy and the Arsenal and Olympiacos goals are great memories.

I'll never forget those Arsenal and Olympiakos goals, and most of all, him setting up Stevie for that wonder strike.

While he's not a club legend, he is most definitely a club legend. Cheers to a couple brief moments of utter brilliance, Neil.

The Arsenal goal came a day after my Dad's funeral, I will never forget it.

I had flown home for a week and was staying with my older brother. We watched the match together on his TV as I was due to fly back to KC the next morning. When Mellor's goal went in we both leaped around his house and said "that one is for Dad!"

He hated Arsenal after the 1950 Cup Final, I don't think he ever really got over it. And 1971 didn't help either!

A sublime moment and a fantastic goal.

As a guy who has only been a LFC supporter since second half of the 97-98 season when I moved to England, I always appreciate stories from the folks on here who've been supporting them for their entire lives--like Ken and Mark. THanks gents. Keep 'em coming.

That is terribly sad news for him, he was a give it all kind of player. Shame his career didn't last for longer. Unforgettable moments in his short career.
