Wow! Frank Yallop on same level managing a team as The Bruce! I believe it. In fact, I think Frank's probably better.

Yea, what he really seemed to be getting at was the only other coach he's had who was at Bruce's level of management was Frank.

    High praise coming from Jeff.

(Of course, I don't know how many other coaches Agoos has had over the years, but I figure the number is considerable at one level or another.)

    An illustrious list:

    Bruce (UVa, DCU, USMNT)
    Bora (USMNT)
    Sampson (USMNT)
    Rongen (DCU)
    Frank
... and whoever he had at various youth levels.

I hate that we have to drag down the level of the whole list by including Sampson.

Okay. Scratch Sampson. List gets much more illustrious.

Aw, c'mon, you of all people should be cutting him a little slack. After all, he is a fellow Spartan....

What? You think Rongen doesn't drag down the list...

Sampson did a lot for the USMNT. One bad WC doesn't destroy his accomplishments (although a lot of people like to try!)...

I agree. The only place Rongen belongs is back in Holland. I have no respect for him as a coach. It is shocking how coaches of his caliber ever get into our age group national team coaching staff.

Sampson has already shot himself in the foot, thank goodness. I would hate to see him show up again as a U.S. national team coach at any level.

    Re: Re: Agoos interview

He may have done a lot for the USMNT, but when he got to that level, he panicked and started micromanaging. On a lower level, he may be fine, but in 1998 he was in over his head.
