    Aftermath of Sunday [R]

What are the ramifications going to be from all of the stuff that went on after the final whistle blew? Are we going to see match bannings for those bastards? Or is the FA going to dock the Goons points? Or both?

Also if this doesn't light a fire under our boys for the next few months, nothing will.

This article appeared in today's Telegraph - http://www.dailytelegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2003/09/22/sfnsmi22.xml:

    Here are some excerpts:

Compare this to the messages currently appearing in the Arsenal Forum, and you'll see that there isn't any repentance from their like, it's unlikely to come from Highbury either.

I don't like the docking points. If the video evidence still shows what it did yesterday (hah-hah), then I wouldn't be surprised to see a few match bans handed out...

The thing is the FA may have no choice but to dock points even though i do take the same stance as you do. The FA will either give out lots of 3 match bans to the Arsenal players (Keown, Parlour, LAuren etc) or docks points. The FA have got a hard decision to make. The only thing that you can guarantee is that Wenger will be moaning once the decision is made

    I almost forgot!

I was laughing for 20 minutes after Ronaldo's first touch put Ashley Cole onto his backside. That was AWESOME! LOL! :D

    Do your part

Do your part in helping the FA determine which punishments to hand out:

Phil Neville! That's a 12 match ban for niggling your neck in between poor Lauren's outstretched hand!

Lauren again the victim! This time it's Ruud Van Nistelrooy who must have sprinted into the middle of 5 Arsenal players backwards and Lauren (bless him) had no choice but to reach out to defend himself! That's a 2 year ban for you Ruud!

This just in... Patrick Vieira has placed blame squarely on the XXXX for Arsenal's plight.

Mod note: a little too over the top there mate

The Arse's behavior was deplorable. At the very least, the FA must suspend Keown, Lauren, & Cole. Suspend the three players three games each. Anything less would be scandalous.

Arse must also be fined an amount equivalent to one home game. And that the proceeds go to the FA's Fair Play budget.

The CR might also be reprimanded - the field officials didn't seem to see Arse's behavior towards Ruud as violent conduct.

Geeze, why not just relegate them to the Conference?

I think we'll see some multiple match bans, and that's it.

As an Arsenal fan, I must say that Martin Keown is truly a chimp. :(

If it happens like it says above, Arsenal is done before the season really starts.

It's unlikely, I'll admit, but this could galvanize their squad and they could put up a big run. Fergie has uses the "it's us against the world" / seige mentality for years. Don't know if they have the squad or the manager for that type of thing though. :D

Lots of stuff in the papers today:

"The Daily Star reports on Patrick Vieira's amazing threat to Ruud van Nistelrooy as the two players clashed in the tunnel after the game at Old Trafford. The Arsenal skipper is said to have turned on the Dutchman and blasted: 'You come any closer and you'll get one - and this time I'll hit you good and proper.' "

"The Daily Express says: 'Arsenal are facing 20-match ban over shameful Sunday.' The players could face a combined 20-match ban for their part in the brawl at Old Trafford on Sunday. "

"Ian Wright has shocked his former club Arsenal by blasting the Gunners for their harsh treatment of Manchester United's Ruud van Nistelrooy, in an exclusive report in the Daily Star. Wright said: 'Anyone can see it's not right for four guys to be pushing somebody around.' "

"Says Gary Pallister in the Daily Star. The former Manchester United star says Arsene Wenger must come down hard on his players following Sunday's game at Old Trafford. "

    and my fav:

"The Daily Star reveals that Manchester United are on the lookout for a housekeeper to look after new signing Cristiano Ronaldo. It's reported that Alex Ferguson wants to hire someone to take care of the Portuguese teenage sensation, who Fergie believes is too young to be left alone in a £500,000 bachelor flat in the posh Alderley Edge, Cheshire. The paper says: 'As well as being able to clean, she'll have to prepare Portuguese favourites such as hot and spicy Piri-Piri for United's £12million signing.' "
