True, their focus has been undeniably off field of late. Which is rightly should. Moving up further with their current stadium could be problematic at best. Speaking of which, what's the status of their bid to take over Wimbledon Stadium?

Any news on the greyhound ground? Last time i followed it there were also some rival bids to that piece of land.

Looks like AFC Wimbledon are on the verge of making the first of several big moves that, if things go according to design, will result in Wimbledon returning to Plough Lane for the first time in nearly 20 years.

First step will see Chelsea buying Kingsmeadow from AFC Wimbledon and leasing the stadium back to the Dons who will be using the funds from the sale to pay for the new 11,000 seat Plough Lane.

Slightly different venue. Same street but the old stadium is now an apartment complex, We would use the greyhound stadium (really outdated and rarely used). I will feel a little sorry for kingstonian who will end up homeless from the ground they mostly built. But the club was badly ran for 15 years and hasn't bounced back in any meaningful way yet.

Correct, I was referring to the street rather than the old stadium. They'd be about a block away from where the old stadium was if I'm not mistaken.

The Dons are in the playoff semifinals currently, at Accrington Stanley with the winner facing Plymouth Argyle at Wembley with the winner of that being promoted to League One next year. In the first leg of the semifinal the Dons won 1-0 and today were down 2-1 at the end of FT. In the first half of ET Lyle Taylor scored for the Dons and they are currently winning 3-2 on aggregate with about 5 minutes left in extra time. There was also a delay as the flood lights went out in the second half of ET.

-They did it! Wembley it is, Monday, May 30th.

I'm so delighted to see the Dons promoted to league 1. Been rooting for them all season and a colleague of mine now owes me $10

The game against MK Dons is going to be 'tasty', a friend of mine went to the cup game a couple of seasons ago and happily joined in with everybody else in smashing up the toilets while they were there (there is still to this day a LOT of upset about the MK Dons)
