My Assumption:

China 0 - 1 Saudi Arabia
Australia 1 - 0 Japan
Saudi Arabia 1 - 2 Australia
Japan 3 - 0 Vietnam

 

With these scores Australia would overtake Japan on GD.

 

I have new predictions.

China 2 - 2 Saudi Arabia
Australia 1 - 1 Japan
Saudi Arabia 1 - 2 Australia
Japan 4 - 0 Vietnam

Something tells me that China will be a problem for this Saudi Arabian team, despite their humiliation against Vietnam.

 

Mine would be:
China 0 - 2 Saudi Arabia
Australia 0 - 0 Japan
Saudi Arabia 1 - 2 Australia (By this time, KSA already qualified but I think Australia gonna treat this match seriously as a means of preparation for the Playoff against possibly the UAE)
Japan 3 - 0 Vietnam

 

The final standings would look like this in your case:

1) Japan_____________22
2) Saudi Arabia________20
3) Australia___________19

 

That's exactly how I see it panning out.

1) Japan__________22 (tops by goal differential)
2) Saudi Arabia_____22
3) Australia________19

 

So, the majority has Japan and Saudi Arabia making it with Japan topping the group. However it's a split decision as somebody went with Australia to overtake Japan. Maybe we get even more prdeictions in?

 

another solution would be for china to draw with Saudi Arabia, and for Australia to win its next two games. in that case, we would have Japan and Australia in the top 2. I don't really believe in this scenario, but it is also a possibility.

Does anyone know if the Chinese team will play in the Middle East or in China against Saudi Arabia?

 

No news regarding this, but I presume they will continue playing in the Middle East. Not saying China is a strong team, but they really got shafted in this qualifications, mainly by not being able to play at home.

 

At the moment they are organizing the Winter Olympics at home. I don't see why they can't play this game in China.

 

If KSA can finish the job in next matchday, it will be the first time that we have more than two teams from West/Central Asia in the World Cup which is good for West/Central Asia (Qatar, Iran, and KSA).

China played its homes games versus Japan and Australia in Qatar and UAE respectively. IMO for the sake of fairness, China vs KSA game should be played in Qatar or UAE either behind closed doors or very low attendance (Only Chinese fans in stadium).

IMO whoever goes to intercontinental playoff, they will be underdog versus 5th team of CONMEBOL. I wish the best to top three teams of this group in their rest of WCQs 2022 campaign.

Thanks for the information. In this case, to be fair, it would be necessary that only Chinese fans can come to the stadium.

 

It's a good venue for Saudi Arabia. They should get the job done and qualify in that game.

 

I am not so sure, because china will probably play in Sharjah stadium. In this stadium, china has not lost any game, they even managed to draw against Australia here. I think china will surprise a Saudi Arabian team that will be under pressure. I predict a draw

I predicted a 2-0 win for Saudi Arabia back in February. I stick to that.

 

Don't know why but I feel the result will be following (irrespective of score):

CHN x KSA - KSA win
AUS x JPN - AUS win
JPN x VIE - DRAW
KSA x AUS - DRAW / AUS Win

 

Japan to draw with Vietnam is as bold as it gets.

 

me, I see a surprise of China on Saudi Arabia a draw or a victory who knows... We'll soon know if I'm right or not.

 

Maybe not a draw, but a hard fought, last minute win 1-0 to Japan. Personally, I doubt this would happen.
