Asian Cup Winners Cup Finals: Saudi Arabia: 6 Japan: 5 Iran: 1 Asian Super Cup: S.Korea: 4 Japan: 3 Saudi Arabia: 1 AFC Champions League: S.Korea: 6 Japan: 3 Saudi Arabia: 3 Iran: 3 Overall: Japan: 11 S.Korea: 10 Saudi Arabia: 10 Iran: 4 Iran aren't very successful in club competition .
unfortunately club soccer requires good funding, management and organization and Iran has neither of those.... BUT still beating Iranian clubs haven't been a walk in the park for anyone in Asia!....
Well, Asian Club Championship (AFC Champions League now) is the only prestigious continental club competition in Asia and Iran has a decent record in it.
I doubt thats accurate, KSA has 12, Korea 8, Japan maybe 6, and Iran is 4. Iran doesnt have a good league, thats one of their problems, but having a large number of players overboard helps their NT.
I agree, for ACWC the first 5 edition usually have no more than 20 clubs participating, Iran, South Korea and China don't takes it seriously in the early years, so that clubs from Hongkong and Thailand could enter the semi-finals, and the FA cup was not a important tournament in some coutries, that's why some of us believes that ACL should give spots to League runner-ups instead of the FA Cup Winners
like in europe the winner and runner up go to ACl and the third go to preliminary round. the FA cup winner and the League Cup go to AFC Cup like in europe they go to UEFA will be better.
