It may have been around 1998 when Target sold official MLS clothing. Not necessarily specific team jerseys, but they had cheapo quality jerseys with the MLS logo on them.

I'm assuming the ball in question is the Roterio since that's what comes up when I click the link in the original post of this thread.

To me, it looks like a soccer ball wrapped in a leather garter. Kind of weird, but I don't think it's necessarily ugly.

Maybe it was designed by a dominatrix? For example, see the strappy leather style on the upper chest of the Dominatrix Barbie:

I actually liked the Cloudy Jade jerseys. But I hope that the addidas jerseys are either a lot like this year's or a lot like the 2001 jerseys.

I also hope that we get Wade back!!!

Dominatrix Barbie?! Some one has some spare cycles. And I'm not sure that I want to know what Guy's former job was.

    GO QUAKES!!

Well, I'm just getting antsy to see these new kits (and purchase them! :) )

Also, as I stated in another thread, I hope MLS has some fun with their tenth anniversary by recognizing their history/heritage with throwback weekends where the teams don kits from either the early years of MLS or from the NASL days in their city.

s.o.p., you don't really want to see our guys wearing the vomit green and six other color jerseys from the first season do you?! Even the black Clash jerseys with new Quakes logos and such would be completely wrong. Maybe the retro '70's Quakes jerseys. Maybe. Or how about the 2000 kits? It was a terrible year, but those are same kits we wore in Frank's first season with us.

    GO QUAKES!!

I am still moved when I see the dark red unis of August 21, and still think they should be a third kit for the Quakes. Dem some sharp MoFos.

Heh, no big secret. Stormy was my previous employer.
IIRC, the Clash were in the cloudy jade soon after I moved out here (summer '97). They weren't bad jerseys.

Although the NASL throwback jerseys weren't bad, I'm not a fan of the old logo.

As far as I can recall, the only differences between the 2000 uniforms and the 2001-2002 uniforms were the material of the jersey (smoother texture in 2001-2002) and the color of the "Yahoo! Sports" sponsor patches on the home jerseys (yellow in 2000, silver in 2001-2002).

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

No, no...perhaps, clarification is in order here. When I say the original jerseys, I mean like those worn by the old NASL Quakes in the early 80's (red w/ black and white stripe down sides.) I can see where I may have left the door open to confusion, though...mentioning throwbacks to early MLS days. We can leave that to other franchises who have happier memories/better uniforms from that era. :)

We were sayin' it before the Korn was even born.

I'll give a hint, cuz I'm feelin' grumpy today. If I get in trouble, oh well.

The new home jersey is based on one of addi's standard jersey styles. I won't tell you which one though. :)
