good one-time ball long over the top by pirlo to inzaghi, and last man hand ball, red card. down to ten men siena.

edit: now down to ten men, milan is holding well onto possession here and trying to burn clock and hope to find the killer second goal. 88' right now

edit: and right as i say that, kalac saves our asses. great save.

Great win given the circumstances. I know I've said this before, but we really should start Cafu and Serginho some more. Cafu is a classy marathon man at almost 40, Serginho is still a massive boost to the attack. Pity we didn't get to see Gourcuff, but at least Paloschi made my day.

How funny is it that both our keepers have a knack for Hollywood saves and both are error-prone? One thing is for certain tho, it always makes the game more interesting.

    FT. 1-0

no pato no gila, nesta got a rest (at least, i hope that is what it was ) for a half, seedorf only played a half, no gattuso, oh, and on top of that the reigning ballon d'or winner kaka was also out. plus siena is on pretty decent form and full of confidence. It wasn't the prettiest match ever, but a good 3 points considering all the circumstances.

I feel good for paloschi. first touch in serie a was a nice goal and a winner, and then he did some good defending and won some fouls and worked hard. kalac had another good game as well.

a game in hand and only 2 points back. if wednesday is a victory, then fourth spot is attained (tocca ferro).

Ancelotti seems like a genius with that substitution.

I was watching Sampdoria-Napoli on RAI, and I hear the trumpet and see Paloschi celebrating. I'm very happy for him, hopefully he gets some more playing time, as he did save and grab Milan three points today.

    FORZA PALO'!

Well that was painful at times, I'm just glad that we got the points today. As for Paloschi, man, to score with your first touch in the league is bound to boost his confidence.

    Edit: Ka-Pa-Pa. it makes sense.

What a class finish from Paloschi. Beautiful on the volley, placed into the lower far corner. Hopefully the first of many for him in Serie A.

With a win against Livorno on Wednesday we reach the 4th place objective, but we have to stay there and not drop off form.

    Milan-Siena 10/02/2008

Maldini 6 -Ha fatto buona guardia su Maccarone e Frick.

Nesta 6 -Solita prestazione senza sbavature.

Cafu 6 -Prestazione altalenante.

E` entrato subito in partita dimoistrando grande personalita`. Colpisce anche un palo.

Ronaldo 5 -Non e` mai entrato in partita.

I must admit, even though I'm not a MIlan fan I couldn't help but smile when I saw this kid score. It really was a brilliant goal by him and he definitely made a case for himself after today's performance. Him and Pato are going to form a lethal combo for quite some time.

What's Ancelotti's outlook on Paloschi after today's game?

Its rather low IMHO. He wasn't up to his 8-9 standards but definitely no 5.5. Reading this you may think he was the worst player on the field (Discounting Ron's a no participation and Brocchi's evident lack of skill).

So Ancelotti can smile... Nice. The future seems bright.

First Pato then Alberto Paloschi......who says Milan is too old? I guess they were just waiting for 2008 for these guys to turn 18 , mature and so they could contribute right away.....

He is also on the B list roster for the Champions League......they must have a lot of faith in him.....

Just finished watching a delayed tape game. I am very happy and not because we won, but because we did it wthout our major weapons and Ronaldo was not playing all that well today at all.
Also, I am extremely satisfied that Kalac is doing so well, he will be huge for us this season in Serie A and CL. Moreover, Jankulowski seems to be back and that's huge for us!!!
Congrats to Paloschi on an awesome goal - I wonder what he told Pippo after his goal.

    Wow

Paloschi what a goal.. still very early to tell.. but suddenly our future attacking options don't seem so bad.

Pato - Paloschi next year :)

I think that could be stretching it a bit to be fair. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely proud of the kid and glad he was able to turn his first ever chance in an official league game into a goal.

However, what makes Pato an extraordinary player at 18 years is his remarkable body type and speed. Basically Pato isn't far away from where Ronaldo was before his prime; contrastingly Paloshci is a little on the shrimpy side and I strongly doubt he forms a partnership with our number 1 prodigy in the future.

I know Paloschi wasn't on for very long but I think thats a good thing, any time he was pressured while he had the ball he fell over and the rare time he was in space he didn't seem to possess any kind of def touch that separated him from the other hopefuls.

I could be too harsh but thats my take on him atm.

About the game: Gourcuff must not be doing something in training that will get Carlo to play him; I mean if Serginho is selected over a supposedly very talented player with youthful exuberance than there must be something going on we don't know because the moment I saw the lineup with no Gourcuff I lost my mind.

Or maybe Carlo is losing his mind its hard to say?

hmm... reminds me of a certain younger, super pippo inzaghi... and by this i do not mean he will or even may turn into the new pippo inzaghi, but that, given 3 chances he has scored 3 goals and the stats just speak for themselves... we all just hope that he does well, but that does not mean that he will... but atm, 3 goals in 3 games, atleast 2 of which were as a substitute(I am not sure if he started the first catania game) is not a bad record to have...

i am honestly shocked, absolutely shocked that gourcuff did not play that game, he will most likely be out of milan come summer time...

    You're right, its remarkable really.

Ironically Paloschi's idol is Inza; the most idea scenario I guess would be to see Paloschi develop into a future Inzaghi but with a better touch and passing ability?
