yeah, I have followed some brazilian football of late at club level (still have the santos-corinthians match stored, neymar starts, so i want to watch him), and i try to follow brazil youth teams. i think hernanes is kinda slow, but his technical ability is beyond reproach. he's a good dribbler, keeps his head up, nice passer with both feet, free kick specialist, can score some long-range stunners, better defender/marker than pirlo, but not as good as say iniesta, so yeah it's not a strength but he has a decent work rate...he seems to be very intelligent, though at times inconsistent, which is actually quite common with players at that position, as we know all too well with pirlo, and even scholes at man united and then xabi alonso had some awful form the past couple of seasons, even xavi this year looked useless for a month or so when barca started to struggle after a great first half of the season, that just comes with the territory.

anyways, i think he would be a great pirlo replacement soon, as pirlo and becks are on their last legs as top-level players and hernanes is only 23, but who knows maybe i am wrong about him. granted, i think that it is a moot point anyways, as i doubt that he is coming here.

If Bordeaux come up with the buy option then its a moot point.

why would he not want to stay, milan didn't believe in his abilities and never game him a fare chance. milan could have easily given him playing opportunities but decided to play older (waaay more experienced) players instead. now he is loved in france and get all the praise he would ever want and playing time at that.

Coz its bourdeux over Milan. No offence to them, but if he chooses to stay there, then I will question if he ever had the mental strength to even make it at milan. There is no question about the talent, but you need to have a certain degree of mental strength to wear these colors.

If he prefers to play in a small pond and be happy with maybe (and thats a big MAYBE seeing how the last 7 years in the french league have gone) a french national title he will stay at bourdeux. But if he wants a chance at winning something big like the CL, he will come here.

I still believe if you are good enough you will play regardless of age in milan. That is true for youth and more obviously for the older players. Emerson never played, because he wasnt good enough, but maldini has been able to keep up a level so he continues even though he is 40. Sheva doesnt play even though he was the golden boy where as inzaghi keeps scoring so he keeps playing even at 35.

Kaka played because he was good enough. Pato plays because he is good enough. Flamini is now playing because he is showing much more than he was earlier.

Last I herd he can come back to the MLS on loan. He can then terminate or dictate what he wants after the MLS season, meaning if he wants to sign for free in January for Milan, he can......

Yes, that is about right. His original contract was until 2012 but he has an opt-out clause at the end of the 2009 season (in November). He can leave the Galaxy for free at that point. When he goes back to the Galaxy in July, he is not really on-loan however. He is fulfilling his contract. His current situation to AC Milan is a loan, although he is still under contract with the Galaxy.

By the way, I went to the Galaxy game last night. They are hurting bad without Beckham (on the field and off the field). Attendance has dropped by about 10,000 and their front office has dropped the price of sideline seats until Beckham comes back from $75 to $14 (and sideline seats are still not sold out at those prices). The midfield possession is horrible right now without him and the free kicks are lacking. The offensive attack has sigificantly decreased from last season. I sure hope he is doing something worthwhile for Milan.

i think witout beckham our team would have collapsed...he plays wit fire n enthusiasm thru hard work...his skill is medicore...touch/vision avg...long ball/crosses good wit free kicks great...but his tenacity n runnin off the ball is what makes him such a significant player to me...he has def made our team better...id say becks has been our best signing next to zambrotta/abbiatti...but every game becks has played wit us hes showed heart...i watched a lot of MlS games and are familiar wit the league..in order for beckham to SHINE in the US is to have quality players play wit him...becks doesnt score goals, he sets them up, he wins the ball back to set up an assist...he tracks back n backs up ur winger fullback...things the boxscore doesnt show...ur lucky to have this guy on ur team full time, we were granted a great opportunity to have him for 3 months

Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg seems to be hottest prospect in the german bundesliga nowadays. he's a 23 years old stiker from bosnia and herzegovina. he would fit the 'not yet established striker + central defender' thing we're apparently looking for.
    i heard ancelotti likes him, but he's not-eu so that's a problem.

btw what's the situation with sheva? he's not-eu and on loan. does a loan count towards the limit for not-eu players?

Yes...it count towards the limit of non-eu players. But I think he is eligible for an italian passport.

Yeah, he was faily solid the entire game besides that horendous play and the handball on the edge of the box at the end of the game.

Hopefully, he will make it up come the return leg to the Dragao.

Milan, Juve linked with Marcus Tulio Tanaka of Japan

Milan folk might remember him from the game against Urawa in the 2007 CWC semi-final. He's a 185cm CB who plays for Japan as well as Urawa.

Apparently the interest from Milan is from the impression from that game.

Do the Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea or Real Madrid rumors count? Or are coaches exempt from the thread?

well, i would say bullshit rumors are exempt from this thread falvo, but we both know thats not true either :p

I dont think anyone is buying those links.

I personally think that these set of rumors are all created by berlusconi and galliani to kepe the club in public eye during the champions league games. monday night all the kaka and ancelotti rumors go out. tuesday wednesday they let it stir and a stark rejection of the rumors go out thursday. Coincidence? I think not.

unrelated, jpick, but i have been thinking recently, who would have expected pirlo to age quicker than gattuso?!

we have had multiple discussions on this forum about how pirlo who doesnt rely on his pace as much would age slower than gattuso and yet it seems that gattuso keeps going and going while pirlo is looking like a shadow of his former self. It seems that both have gotten slower but pirlo being slower than he used to be pretty much equals to barely a jog.

to be honest, the more i watch pirlo play for la nazionale, the more i realize he needs to be relieved of most of his already limited defensive duties and moved a little further forward to get the best out of him now, but that is a discussion for another thread. with flamini in there, he has looked better the last couple of months, but he needs a runner in a 4-4-2 badly next to him. gattuso is a warrior no doubt, but i still fear how he will react after such a serious knee injury.
