I've heard only a few songs from that LP, but what I've heard is incredible. They've been playing one track on KEXP (don't remember the name of the song) that is a gorgeous piece of music.

I wish a slow and painful death upon Music Choice, for removing the Americana channel from my cable system.

I agree, although sometimes people are chatty regardless, especially at shows where the tickets prices are low.

I'm sorry, but The Stones' "Emotional Rescue" has to be one of the worst songs ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.

I know it's well regarded by many, but I would have a hard time choosing between an hour of that song on a loop and passing a kidney stone.

The bass line is truly tortuous -- and that's pretty much the whole song, that and Jagger's yowling and Charlie Watts falling asleep behind his kit. Oy.

(I'm never going to that restaurant for lunch again. Ever.)

I love that song for one reason...

"I'll be your knight in shining ahhhhh-mooorrr, coming to your emotional rescuuuuuuuue.

    You will be mine
    You will be mine
You will be mine all mine

    You will be mine
    You will be mine
You will be mine all mine"

There's no way Jagger wasn't totally loaded when he cut that vocal track...no way at all. It's so creepily funny. Or funnily creepy.

"Chrissy Kiss the Corpse" from Of Montreal's Satanic Panic in the Attack is my song of the day. Very poppy and addictive.

The fizz bass on that song gets in my head often.

IN the meantime, since i have arrived here in Boston i have bought the following:

    The Bens' EP
    Beulah - Demo
    Beulah - Handsome Western States
Led Zeppelin - III (In mini-LP format. AWESOME)
Led Zeppelin - s/t (Once again, in Mini-LP format. AWESOME)
Beatles - Let it Be (OK, so there was this store selling alot of Mini-LPs. this one too)
    Violent Femmes - 3
    Of Montreal - Adhillis Aboreum
Of Montreal - Colequiot Asleep in the Poppies
    Self - Breakfast With Girls
    Secret Square - s/t
CCR - Chronicle Volumes I and II (japanese import)
    Fugazi - Argument
    Talking Heads - Little Creatures
Olivia Tremor Control - Black Foliage : Animation Music Vol. I

Here's the funny thing : Of these 15 CD purchases, I actually already own 6 of them. That's over a THIRD of them that I already own.

    ...on vinyl.

...which i obviously didn't take with me to Boston.

This would make me sick to the stomach if I didnt truly enjoy EVERY ONE of these albums, however.

Now that you have Demo, what do you think of the songs in comparison to how they came out on Yoko? I remember that you like Yoko so I was curious about what you thought of it after listening to Demo.

I dunno. I've listened through Demo maybe twice or thrice, but nothing really stood out to mee that was way better than on Yoko. Different, yes, but i dunno about better. THere are little things that i liked, though. For example, i was never a big fan of the drum sample/loop at the begginning of "a man like me" , so im gald that was taken out.

I can see how one might think that yoko is overproduced though. That said, i don't know that i would prefer any of the tracks on Demo to those on Yoko.

    but i'm happy i have it. :)

The new "optimized for Internet Explorer 5.5 and above for Windows" All Music Guide sucks.

I mentioned this in another thread, but the My First Sony line of products was all kinds of awesome. And you have the RetroPod paying tribute to the Sports Walkman.
Isn't it sad that Sony stopped producing those great products? Is it any surprise that Sony's audio equipment division is struggling? Primary colors rock! Bring back My First Sony!

    Review?!?!

Neil Hannon's one of those few artists for whom I'll buy whatever he does, sight unseen, on past record alone.

Fountains of Wayne's "Hung Up On You" reminds me of Gram Parsons.

And I just saw JEM perform "They" downstairs. Not bad.

Bon Jovi is one of the stupidest and worst bands to have ever been produced by human beings. There no possible excuse that can ever justify how horribly and uncontrollably full of ******** they are. Every single one of their songs makes me want to puke out all of my innards and throw them right into their faces.

And anybody who disagrees with me is a dickface.

    ...continue.
