    LAZOVIC'S SPURS TRIAL A SUCCESS

Another youngster...when was the last time 1 of our youngsters made a name for themselves? Taarabt, Boateng, GDS or Bale? Hmm...i would say only Lennon is the most successful youngster we had in recent years...

Know nothing about him but if he's promising for such a modest price, why not get him on the books. We always need to feed the production line of youngsters coming through. Most won't make it, that's understood.

Blimey, almost a week till the next league game still... :(

With tons of guys cup-tied and out injured, I don't know how bitter I should be when we field a C team and if we don't do well if I should be mad or not.

Yeah I know but the league is what matters most right now. Win, lose or draw in Ukraine, I'm guessing most of us will shrug our shoulders and look forward to Hull.

In his defence, that particular post wasn't that bad, although that doesn't make up for the other 99% that were.

Or is it jus' cos he is like, a PAOK fan?

Does not make sense. They already have GDS that Harry does not like and will not play. Now they are going to go after a similar sized and type ex teamate of his. Does not make sense at all. Gio has a stronger lower body than Bojan. Also, I doubt Bojan will be interested after seeing what happened to Gio and he is better suited for La Liga. I do not believe this rumor. And if it is true then Spurs are a real mess and do not know how to manage money and players efficiently.

    Hahahahahaha!

If Spurs had no Goalies, they'd still sign a striker.

    *sigh* I love this team.

Hoping Newcastle go down and the club signs Gutierrez, he would fit in very nicely with his work rate and ability on the left.

With Hull finally winning again it seems clear there will be at least one established club going down, maybe two if Stoke can keep their noses in front. I expect Bent Harry and the club will raid them for players. This is maybe where blowing so much of the budget in January will hurt us as there could be a lot of useful bargains between them and clubs like Portsmouth needing to cover debts, unless we can shift some players on to what few clubs have money or make exchange deals.

Few transfer targets i feel we can get from the possible relegated clubs...

    1) Blackburn - Warnock, Santa Cruz, McCarthy, Nielsen
    2) Boro - Downing, Johnson, Tuncay, Wheater
    3) Portsmouth - Distin, Kranjar, Crouch
    4) Newcastle - Jonas, Bassong, Coloccini
    5) Stoke - Delap, Beattie
    6) West Brom - Carson

I would be happy this summer if we got Distin, Downing, and Santa Cruz.

    That's it. No more.

500 percent agree with this. Young, determined, strong as an ox and he has got balls on top of balls. Also he could be a good prospect for the future of English football. It's time to start building up the local youth. Great call Double.

Is he a Right Back? We're so damn thin in that position... if we don't get one this summer, I'll be gutted.

I guess the sarcasm doesn't come across so well in written words

I'd love to have Wheater or Distin in a Spurs shirt. Wishful thinking would have us get Brede Haangeland from Fulham. God that guy is a beast for them.

I think that with Hutton returning, Chimbonda here, and other options for a 3rd RB cover in Corluka, Zokora (don't laugh, he was actually pretty good defensively when he played RB), and solid youth prospects in Gunter and Adam Smith ... I don't think RB is really a need area.

Now, Hutton has a history of injuries, Chimbonda has attitude issues, and Corluka and Zokora are better suited in other positions, so I see your point. But, I think we have enough cover there.

Left Back I have my worries about though. I seem to be the only Bale fan left, but even I recognize that he is injury prone. Ekotto is servicable but not top class by any stretch of the imagination. And after those two, we're really playing square pegs in round holes like Corluka or Chimbonda on the wrong side, O'Hara who doesn't defend well enough, or who knows, maybe that'll be the next out-of-position place Redknapp plays Bentley.

But I'm more interested in one more dependable LB. As far as CB's go, I think any good ones will be scared off by our depth chart of Woodgate, King, Dawson, Corluka, and THEN the new recruit would likely be 5th fighting for 2 spots. I don't see Sylvain Distin or Ryan Nelsen coming given those odds. I'd like Wheater, but surely he'll have other options as well.

Gio and Taraabt also gone out on loan... Probably a good thing -- not like they were going to get any playing time. Hopefully we'll welcome them back once we've cleared out some of our bloated squad.
