And now this ref gives Deybi a red card after the game so Mexico gets an advantage lmao ******** this
Wild game. It is what it is, at least we get Costa Rica in the repechaje and with all due respect, we should beat them based on what we've witnessed the last three months. Just sucks we won't be in the final four. Also I'm pretty sure we'll be without like 3-4 players due to card accumulation. Time to find some depth n take this act on the road.
I'm not too bothered about the final four, the extra prize money for next round would have been a bonus though. Managing to dodge Canada is definitely a plus, TT would have been ideal though. I'm very wary of CR, no way will they be the same side that lost back to back against Panama. I put it down as a 50/50 game.. we'll be without Rosales, Maldonado and Choco. If we don't qualify I won't necessarily be surprised.
Nah this will most certainly be the same Costa Rica. They're going through a massive generation change and do not have the same quality players as before. Navas and Campbell are a shell of their former selves plus they still rely on the likes of Waston which is pretty telling as far as how they view their new generation of talent. Ruiz n Saborio aren't walking through those doors. Confidence level is at a 7. Plus it'll be played in Dallas which is pretty much a home game for the boys. Rueda will be up for the task. I think we lose Menjivar too. Brutal but not devastating. Maldonado tho. Rueda will have to schedule some friendlies for sure..
I only watched the extra time but the brief period Elison Rivas was on he looked pretty solid, given how high stakes it was. Maldonado is a massive loss. I know there's another few guys ahead in the pecking order but I guess calling another Motagua CB would make sense, if Vega is first choice? Will be interesting to see if Rueda will be forced to call up Quioto now too, ha.
A Quioto and Arriaga return would be ideal for many reasons. I'm assuming Rochez will be Choco's replacement which seems the best case scenario. I'm assuming the CB pairing might be Marcelo Santos and Luis Vega.. Motagua has had a very rough year but that seems to have zero affect on their NT form. Winter transfer window is next month.. Hopefully Edwin and Alvarez can find a new home.
Supposedly FENAFUTH are appealing the yellow cards against Mexico on the grounds that accumulated suspensions apply to the Nations League and the Copa America play-off is a separate competition... let's see how it goes.

I'm reading Luis Vega is out for 3/4 months with a shoulder injury/operation and won't be ready for the repechaje. Marcelo Pereira is also out injured and unavailable for the game against Costa Rica.

Will Honduras have MLS players available? Since MLS is in their off-season. @Catracho_Azul Los Nórdicos will also be playing vs Guatemala on Saturday, January 13th. Non-FIFA matchday. So mostly domestic league players. I'm expecting the Catrachos to win or draw. I'm expecting the Chapines to lose or maybe draw if lucky. Interesting to see Iceland come to South Florida and play two Central American sides.
