    Away to Blackburn [R]

Good news on the injury front (for us anyway) as it would appear that Duff will not make the game after being taken of in the 18th minute of yesterdays game.

good news for our fullbacks and midfield

I would not have liked to see Mlechiot or Le Saux try to contain Duff. Also Frank and Manu should have an easier time in the middle without Dunn. Anyone know if Petit and Melchiot are at full fitness yet? Jimbo scored for Holland so I hope he is ready to put a hurting on Blackburn's defenders Wednesday. Does Zola get dropped even though he has been on fire?

    Tough call there allright.
But, thats why ranners gets the big bucks i s'pose.

I would, with a heavy heart i'll admit, sit Zola and play our main men up the front. We simply have to get it going up there with the two of them together,as a team, rather than seperate entities.

    Time to Score Goals

Zola to start with Jimmy I reckon.
The Jimmy and Eidur partnership to resume in full against the Geordie lads.
Two wins in the next two games would be blooming Marvelous.

Friedel has been playing well in the nets for Blackburn.

    MIA...

Add Cole to that list who didn't make the trip to Ewood Park. He's picked up a foot injury.

Time to get an important away win today

Will be interesting to see what the back four looks like tonight. I guess Babba and Melchiot are back in for us, but maybe Claudio may introduce another left back or make a 3-5-2 switch?

Btw - Dennis Wise is set for retirement according to the guardian and footballtransfers. Lovable little skinhead.

Also Tony Bainks, former sports minister may run to be the Mayor of London, might be good for Chelsea to have the mayor supporting the team eh?

My guess is the line-up will be ----

    Cudicini
    Melchiot Gallas Desailly Babayaro
    De Lucas Lampard Petit Zenden
    Zola Hasselbaink

    I do prefer 4-4-2 to 3-5-2....But How about…

    ------------Cudicini

    -------Melchiot Desailly Gallas

    ---------------Petit

    Gronks------ De Lucas Lampard Zenden

    --------Gudjohnsen Hasselbaink

Btw - Whatever happened to CR's tactics of changing formations during the game?

Dennis Wise's has retired from top-class football. He may no longer play for Leicester City either.

    today's midfield

Should be interesting to see who Claudio starts in the midfield today. I see us sticking with our four in the mid:

    --De Lucas -- Petit -- Lamps -- Zenden --

We all know Gronks can't go more than 45' and we'll probably need to sub someone in the midfield in the second half...either when Manu limps off with a knock or when Zenden can't breathe anymore, so we'll probably need him providing some relief.

Stanic is barely holding it together physically right now (nothing's changed here) so I don't know how much of a factor he'll play today.

So I guess we have this lot to choose from:

    De Lucas
    Petit
    Lamps
    Zenden
    Gronks
    Keenan
    Stanic

.....God no one better get injured...

Does anyone else find it odd

that CR gave Keenan so much playing time in the friendlies and talked him up and has since decided he is lower than Stanic on the depth chart? I just don't get it. All we hear is how we are going to give youth a chance instead of ageing players with no future. We know what Stanic can (and CANNOT) do on the pitch, why aren't we giving Keenan some more time? Considering that none of Petit, Gronks and Zenden can last for over 60 minutes I would think he should have had an opportunity by now - in 4 matches he has only made the bench once and seen no action.

    but I must admit

I am happy to see Morris return to the middle. I am not a fan of his but I think when on form he is better as a CM than De Lucas.

Blackburn away is definitely the right sort of fixture for him to be playing in as well, better this than Man Utd or Arsenal.

But why does CR persist with playing Stanic? I will bet any and every person here right now that Stanic will be booked tonight. Just a friendly wager. Who wants to take me up on it?

    where are you deadbeats?

I didn't think anyone on this board actually worked at their job. Guess I was mistaken. All I need right now is a cold beer and I could begin to enjoy this thing they call work.
