Even most Kansas Citians couldn't answer that one. But hey, they've only been in business 15 years. I'm sure the Wiz will turn the corner any day now...
it is for training, not dressing visiting teams from across the state the lack of a changing room for opposing teams doesn't change the fact that it is the best in the country or that it is state of the art. it only might reflect on other training complexes. And before anybody asks why the Wiz held this game at a facility not intended to host "dressing visiting teams from across the state", remember, the Wiz's "home ground" is a minor-league baseball stadium. There was probably something more important going on at CAB that day, like a lacrosse exhibition or a Christian rock festival. The point is, in KC soccer terms, Swope Park is indeed "state of the art". It's really more of a rodeo town anyway.
160 million dollar stadium being built- this is weak smack from a city who until recently only had college, indoor, or girls soccer to talk of. We have 3 trophies in our stable.........
what level in the USSF does ACSTL play in? we play in a minor league baseball stadium and you team is minor league, odd you brought up the word minor.
Independent. They play in the Northern League...think of the Rascals of the Grizzlies though without the age limit cap as those teams can have up to 4 veterans which is defined as more than six years of professional baseball experience. They are, like our local minor league teams, unaffiliated with any major league organization. Also their season doesn't not begin until May 20th of this year but the T-Bones do not host until the 28th of May.
Or for goodness sake, let Kansas City have their one and only bragging right. I just find it funny that they already feel threatened enough to come on the Saint Louis forum and beat their hands on their chests. After all, they are Missouri's 2nd city. Their baseball team stinks, their pointy ball team has won one less Super Bowl than the St. Louis Rams in spite of being around considerably longer, and even St. Louis has won an NBA title. I'm confident it won't take us long to surpass them in soccer. We're just waiting for a game that actually counts for something.
So you don't know then? Does anybody else know? I'm curious if they play in the stadium for the KC Steaks or whatever of the Northern League.
Hmm... not sure how you consider the facility "the best in the country" when it lacks a changing room for visiting teams. Teams always scrimmage other teams so I'm not sure why you would say the facility is for training and then dismiss the idea of having a room for visiting teams to dress. It IS a nice facility (I watched the whole nauseating video*). I would guess that the lack of a visitors locker room came down to the cost of a room with limited use. *Note to people with video cameras: zoom with your feet, not the button.
Really? In the T-Bones stadium? Very cool. Our "AA" indies only hold 5 or 6 thousand. I think I need to get my happy arse over there to see a game.
I call it best in the country because it is regarded as the best in the country. This isn't complex logic.
AC STL has more USOC titles than the Wizards? Is that your claim? It can't possibly so by "WE" I assume you are referring to some other STL team while on the ACSTL board. You are going to now talk about the amateur teams in STL who won the cup pre 1957 as if they have some bearing on this discussion.
morry, thank you for coming here and stirring stuff up. This is awesome! We'll see ya in the MLS before ya know it...ya know...the biggest Tier II league in the world. We know we're Tier III, do you know that you're Tier II?
What about LA or NYRB? The only thing KC is "Best in Show" is BBQ (but that is definitely something to hang your hat on, BBQ is pathetic in STL).
it's still fair to make sure he knows considering how this thread began and many appeared to not be aware of a match being played.
