Seems weird that they are reporting Spasms. Why play a player at all if he is injured seeing as he has a very hectic week ahead which includes.

    Game vs. Auxerre
    France to Miami
    Miami to Mexico
    USMNT Game vs. Mexico
    Mexico to USA or France.
    Game vs. Boardeaux

Happy to see Davies get his feet wet in Ligue 1 without being thrown in head first. It's a long 38 match season and he's going to do some damage before it's over. Only going 20 in his debut with a busy International schedule in the week ahead augurs well for a big performance at Azteca. Defending Ligue 1 champs Bordeaux come to Sochaux next weekend for an early test.

He's better on the ball than people seem to think and not as fast as people seem to think. He's not Eddie Johnson, he's more of a Robbie Keane-type striker.

Or Thierry Henry, who I believe I heard the French commentators compare him to during those highlights.

Too high of a bar, perhaps.

Well he's definitely a lot better on the ball than I ever would have though. Been watching some vids of him and came to that realization. But he certainly is as fast as people think.

He has the best touch of all our forwards (not counting Dempsey as a forward). That's not saying much, but he was one leg poke away from dribbling through the entire Spanish defense in the Confed Cup.

However, Davies _is_ as fast as people seem to think (on par with EJ). Once his decision-making & vision can become top-5-league level, he'll be very dangerous.

Robbie Keane and Thierry Henry are similar?

Not really. I was mentioning that the annoucers on the highlight video dropped a line about Henry while watching Davies.

Well, the commentators were saying that Charlie listed Henry as an influence and were humorously guessing that that's why he tried to shoot with his left foot in the highlight.

They weren't really comparing him to Henry.

It's always been a feature of his game. Of course we just always decide our players couldn't possibly be skilled enough...

You need to have tight ball control if you're going to do the stanky leg.

Charlie is REALLY fast. Almost in Landon territory.

The faster I stop thinking about Eddie Johnson, the happier I'll be.

I don't speak a work of French, but the announcer does and he pronounced it 'so-shoo' several times.

I think he probably accelerates faster than EJ, which can make him more dangerous - although I'm not sure he's as fast.
