I never said she was not good BUT she was NOT the best player one the field for the game. Her second assist came AFTER this joke was pulled on the fans so did not figure in whatever passes for voting on the award. She gets these JUST because she is Mia. Pu Wei was MUCh more valuable for Washington and even S Little was as well for the entire game. Scurry was unbelieveable and Sawa seemed to be everwhere for the whole game. There were many others that were better for the entire game than Mia. A first rate game only marred by Atlanta's horendous defending in stoppage and this joke of an award.

And April 27 becomes a distant memory for Freedom supporters... I've got to give serious props to both sides though, the last 20 minutes were the best I've seen to date in WUSA. Absolute end-to-end by both sides. What makes that even more amazing is the fact the game was played in a sauna. Games played in this weather usually die completely in the last 20, it's a testament to the fitness and desire of both teams that they produced the riveting stuff they did. On current form, I expect to see us play each other on Aug 24th. Oh, Hamm wasn't just WOTM, but she has to be WOTW as well. Freedom attack was pathetic in the first half of both matches against Carolina and Atlanta (one total fluke Wambach goal). Hamm's insertion at halftime completely changed both matches for her team and gave DC a credible attack (7 goals in 90 minutes is pretty credible, with Hamm being involved in 6 of them). I have no problem with her getting WOTM today. Fear - why exactly were you boycotting this game to begin with? Haven't been able to figure that out...
