Rui Costa is expected to start in central midfield today, as AC Milan travel to the Czech Republic today to face Slovan Liberec in the second leg of their Champions League matchup. Costa had a very strong match in AC Milan’s 1-0 victory in the first leg. http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/g7863.html SoccerAge’s projected lineup for Milan: Dida; Simic, Laursen, Maldini, Kaladze; Gattuso, Rui Costa, Ambrosini, Serginho; Inzaghi, Rivaldo
An interesting starting 11 for Milan: No Rivaldo, and three attacking midfielder types in Rui, Pirlo and Seedorf: 12 Dida 3 Maldini 4 Kaladze 8 Gattuso 9 Inzaghi 10 Rui Costa 14 Šimic 15 Tomasson 20 Seedorf 21 Pirlo 24 Laursen Milan ahead 1-0 on a 20' goal by Pippo.
Langer puts Liberec ahead, 2-1, at 88', and then gets a red card at 90'. The game is presently in extra time, and it looks like Milan may be headed for the UEFA.
My mistake. AC would take the tie-breaker on away goals. I thought this game was at San Siro. ACM squeaks by. Boy, are they fortunate to advance.
No idea if there was an injury, poor play or a tactical sub. Nevertheless, playing time in the center of the midfield is going to be tough seeing as how Milan can put four excellent players out there.
It sounds like Rui had a strong effort. He set Inzaghi up for the only AC Milan goal. I have said it before -- he is motivated to have a HUGE season. http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/futb/...151&mf_club=0&num_jog=0&p_sondagem=0&p_voto=0
Rui Costa was the best player on the field by far. His assist for Inzaghi was pure class and vision. If he keeps playing the way he has so far this Milan team will go very far.
