From reading this account of the game, Figo had a very strong showing today in Real's 2-0 win over Liverpool at the Bernebeau. Figo scored the game's first goal and combined well with Zidane for a dangerous scoring opporunity. This is great news for Portugal and Madrid fans.

One more note from this match -- Abel Xavier started and went the full 90' for 'pool.

Frank, are you going Thursday night?

I'm trying to find out how many tickets have been sold so far. I heard a rumor of 35K but it wasn't confirmed.

I be leaving for Portugal on Tuesday, I have plans to be in Lisbon for the Benfica/Real Madrid game. Do to the demolish of the Luz Stadium I don't know what the capacity is for the game. A portion of the stadium was demolish, do to the building of the new stadium.

    Frank,

I read somewhere that Benfica is expecting around 60K tonight for the Gremio match.

I watched the whole game (live on Eurosport) and while Figo had a decent game I wouldn't say he played greatly, he was subbed out in approx. the 60th minute, and his goal was more Dudek sucking than anything else, that said his cross to Zidane was nice and it was a shame that he couldn't have gotten more on it, it was a blooper that hit the post and left Dudek crawling around looking like he had no clue what to do even though it was slow enough for him to get to. Just my 2 cents.

He was subbed out because it was a friendly, and teams usually try to play as many as possible. I have to take your word for his overall performance, but all the press I have read suggests that he is getting back in form. After his run of injury and bad form over the past few months, that is all anyone on this board can really ask.
