I'm thinking about starting a new SG. We'll be called 60-90, "Supporting the Houston Dynamo 60-90 days at a time."
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days Sure, why not? We've certainly heard it enough times over the past 3 years.
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days I'll gladly join 60-90. Houston 60-90 Supporters Club. Nice ring to it.
Hey guys, over on the stadium thread someone suggested that we should really start a supporters group called 60-90, 'cause that's all we seem to hear from Dynamo and the city over the stadium issue. I thought I'd start a thread to see if there was any support for the idea. Anyone interested???
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days Okay guys, I started a thread in the supporters groups secton for 60-90 if anyone's interested in joining up.
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days "Oh no; not again." - A bowl of petunias free falling over the mythical planet of Magrethea. True. I was actually thinking something something along those lines last week when someone from work was ribbing me about our "apparently interesting lack of interest" in getting a deal done. Hell, we can re-brand the whole team: Houston 60-90 S. C.
Actually, I had thought about it, maybe something cheeky involving 2 or 3 quotations (from verified media sources!) attributed to Mayor White, Pissus Garcia or Mr. Garber himself and their stances/opinions on the matter... There are people out there with far better memories of these things than that which I have (Is CeltTexan out there? ) And feel free to play with the above image - any other ideas out there?
I think changing it from "our two time champions" to just Houston Dynamo might work better, just in case we still don't have a stadium deal in place before our next title. Also, similar to what SenorCool did with the Waibel's Warriors shirts, we could collect the profits and put it toward a stadium fund. Even if they don't use it to pay for the construction, at least we could use the money to buy a palm tree or two for it, right?
hey im a graphic designer so anything you guys want gimme a little direction and i can whip up something for you
Who is Pissus Garcia? Are you talking about city councilman Adrian Garcia or county commissioner Cynthia Garcia?
Sylvia Garcia, precinct 2 commissioner if I remember right. She was the one that spoke out against the '1836' name, saying it wasn't politically correct or some nonsense like that.
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days can you imagine the outcry from 3 month old city council members?
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days Houston 60-90 S.C. won't work. Sylvia Garcia would not approve. She would think that those numbers are probably offensive somehow to Mexican-Americans in Houston. There are much better team names we can think of that would not make her highness mad. Possible team names she would allow: Houston 13 (# of days of the seige) Houston 189 (# of defenders of the Alamo that were killed) Houston 600-1900 (in honor of the approximate # of Mexican soldiers killed) ((for those of you that like the range)) C'mon guys, we are living in a PC world, stop being so insensitive towards anyone Sylvia Garcia wants to keep from being offended.
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days Political correctness is overrated. People spend so much time trying not to offend anyone that they end up not getting anything done. People are gonna be offended, no matter what you do. Get over it and move on.
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days I hope that you and especially Nobius realize that my post was nothing but sarcasm.
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days I know, but I felt the need to say it anyways. Sorry.
Re: Dynamo Stadium Updates IV - announcement in 60-90 days No problem. Are the stadium seats going to be orange or not?
