The Seattle-Salinas Valley game is also webcast at: http://www.newschannel1150.com Kickoff 10.30 EST.
I spoke with the Sounders this week and they said that there wasn't going to be a webcast of the Open Cup game on Wednesday. It would be nice if that wasn't true.
Thats strange because it seems to indicate on their website (complete with graphic) that is going to be webcast. http://www.seattlesounders.net/
NO Seattle webcast! It's not a part of the radio package for 2005! The Sounders buy air time with KKNW and then line up sponsors. Let's remember that Seattle initially didn't even sumbit a bid to host this match! Salinas' field is so narrow that Seattle were "forced" to be the home club. A "crowd" of around 800-1000 is expected tonight at 2,000 seat Starfire Sports Complex. The Sounders website IS deceiving. They put the match-up graphics above the radio link for all games. They should have taken the radio link down for this one.
Somebody better tell Salinas that. They seem to think it's also being webcast, as they have also provided the same link. Whoever does the Sounders website needs a kick in the pants. http://www.svsamba.com/
I wish I would known that Seattle weren't doing a webcast earlier, I would have tried to get this game on the air. I guess Salinas fans will have to scoreboard watch tonight like everyone else
I was screwing around the Samba website, and stumbled upon the Cascade Surge's match VOD website: http://www.cctvsalem.org/cascade_surge.php They have complete match videos available for online streaming!
We posted that on usopencup.com thinking that it would be great to have some VIDEO of some open cup action, but unfortunately they were upset in the opening round. I think it's great that they make this available to their fans, I wish more teams could do something like this. I believe Vermont does, but I'm not sure about the online streaming capabilities.
