Has KC played with 3 in the back all season? If so, what has changed to make it less successful recently?

It was so unsuccessful against SJ that I couldn't figure out why Gansler was using it. What gives?

He has played with four a couple times, particularly when we were low on defenders. This first happened against Chicago in June when they came out with Armstrong on the left, Garcia and Conrad in the middle, and Zotinca on the right. KC won convincingly, but it has been les successful on other occasions.

The SJ game was not the typical Wizards loss during this slump. Other than the SJ game, the defense has only allowed about 12 goals the past 8 games. The offense has been the problem during the slump. Plus, during the other 3 games against SJ, the defense, playing 3 at the back, only allowed one goal.
