Make your predictions now: Don't wait, don't put in "ifs" and "buts" -just pick three up and three down.

Up: I would like to not see Freiburg up again, but they are going up. Mainz is up and the issue will Furth have their usual collapse - no. Furth goes up to the big time.

    Down:
    Wehen - done.
Rostock - done. Burning St Pauli's stadium was stupid. They are stupid. Down, down, down

I like FC Audi's jerseys, but they are not good enough for the 2B. Thanks for coming, here are your wonderful parting gifts.

Up: SCF, Mainz and MSV (in the promotion playoff spot)
Down: Wehen, Rostock and either Ahlen, Ingolstadt or Osnabrueck. Money bet would be Ingolstadt as they are just not on form.

So Wehen, Rostock and Ingolstadt is your final pick.

By the way...your title is misleading. I expected a WHOLE different topic than what I got when I came in. Perhaps the mods should change "who's going down" to "who gets relegated" to avoid future confusion.:D

Fuerth isn't going up because, well, they never do. Freiburg is going up because, well, they seem to be the class of the 2.BL this year. I think Mainz will take care of business and go up. It's a year too early for Kaiserslautern. Either Duisburg or Nuremberg will nip Fuerth at the end for the third spot. I'm going with Duisburg. And then Duisburg will lose in a playoff to the 16th-placed BL team (Gladbach), and remain in the 2.BL.

Koblenz seems to have righted its ship a bit, and Onsabrueck will stage another last day escape, leaving Wehen, Rostock (shocking to me, but they just don't appear to be able to get any traction), and Ingolstadt to occupy the final three spots. I think at the end it will be Rostock which finishes 16th, and IIRC correctly, they will play off against the third-placed team from the 3.BL (I'm certain it will be Fortuna), and I see Rostock saving its bacon in that series.

Oh yeah, and Wolfsburg is going to win the 1.BL. Don't laugh. You heard it here first and if it doesn't happen, well, you're imagining this whole thread.

    Well, we'll see...

Fürth surely has the tougher schedule (a.o. away in Duisburg & Freiburg and at home against Nürnberg & Mainz) ... but if they manage to get 5 wins and maybe also a draw out of the remaining 9 games or even 4 wins and 3-4 draws, they should reach at least spot 3 (of course I hope that they won't face Gladbach then:) ... since I don't think that Duisburg & Nürnberg will get more than 20-21 points, hence.

1 point in Aachen (although Fürth has won the last 3 games there), 1 point against Rostock, 3 points in Wiesbaden, 3 points against Augsburg, 0/1 points in Duisburg, 1 point against Nuremberg (the game takes place in Fürth with max. 3,500 tickets sold to FCN supporters), 0/1 points in Freiburg, 3 points against Mainz (Fürth always wins against them:), 3 points in Ahlen ... and "die Unaufsteigbaren" would have gathered 60-61 points. Surely not easy, but also not that unrealistic.

SC Freiburg and SpVgg Greuther Fürth are my definites going up. I am not certain of FSV Mainz 05 as Joern Anderson was in a similar spot with Oberhausen a few years back and managed to finish fourth, in the next season he got them relegated to the Regionalliga. Thus, my faith in him is
    suspect at best.

I actually see 1. FC Kaiserslautern or MSV Duisburg going up.

Hansa Rostock and SV Wehen Wiesbaden are done. Based on current form, it will either be FC Ingolstadt 04 or FSV Frankfurt going down as well. TuS Koblenz and VfL Osnabrück have put together some decent results in the second half.

In regards to Hansa; this is sad for such great fans. I feel bad for Heath Pearce and see him getting picked up by 1 FCK, Mainz, TuS Koblenz or joining MLS post-season.

The 2 Bundesliga is more subject to volatility and some good points were made about Greuther Fürth, though I think this club is much stronger than the past variants. We all know this could go crazy in the final weeks.

    As for the 1 Bundesliga-

Karlsruher SC, Cottbus and Bielefeld or Bochum. Gladbach will get the results to stay up and possibly finish 12th.

Hannover will barely escape and I see Hecking's days as number ( one day after 34 Spieltag). Same old Hannover. The concrete shoes of mediocrity.

Hasn't FSV Frankfurt been one of the hottest teams in the 2nd half?

Too early for me. I think anything besides Wehen is a shot in the dark.

If I've learned anything from following the 2nd Bundesliga all these years, it is that someone is going to make a hard run at the top two and one of the teams currently at the bottom is going to save themselves.

Too many possibilities for me to say, "these are my three."

Same for the 1st Bundesliga. It's just too damned early.

But that's the game. You know how I roll, I will step out and make a prediction, some years I'm good, others I'm bad. Last year I think I was pretty good.

No point in making a prediction in week 33 ;)

Depends on how far back you go. If you count just the rueckrunde, than no, Duisburg and Freiburg have been hotter. If, however, you count the last several matches of 08, then yes. They have only lost three times since Oktober 19th!!!!

Damn, Keith, you do know that if you go to Vegas you have to place your bets BEFORE the craps shooter throws the dice, right?:D

The bottom three will remain the same.

Frieburg, Dusiburg, and Sechzig are going up!

And by Sechzig I mean Mainz, but I just wanted to pretend for a while. I can dream, can't I?

Which is why you won't find me playing craps in Vegas or anywhere else.

Even when I bet on football, I like to make an educated guess.

This will be more interesting in about another three or four weeks.

You do realize there is no penalty for being wrong right? We won't hold it against you, but to make it worth your while - if you get it right, Garry will send you a prize.

That's right, Garry will send you a prize. :D

Thank you for that correction. Notice I said either Ingolstadt or FSV. I still don't have faith that FSV have the legs to finish beyond 15 and they are still relegation fodder.

BUT AT LEAST I WILL SULLY FORTH A PREDITION. UNLIKE FOOTYFAN1.:p

I SAY OLD BOY; YOUR RUTHLESS. ;)

    I like that.

I would enclose some underwear with recent heavy skidmarks. Might make the point a bit "ripper"! You could mask it better and not have to worry about the law.

But you also mentioned that it is "based on the current form". :p ;)

Of course they are far from being saved yet, though (facing a few really tough games)...
