i'd rather he had invited to camp and selected gideon zelalem for the 23 than f**king wondo or davis ...
He apologized for it profusely in the tweets following it, saying he was misunderstood and that he was laughing about himself not even noticing it...before eventually deleting his twitter account altogether minutes later. It was definitely him, not that it matters really because he's 14, and 14 year olds generally say stupid shit.
eh, I'm not buying that. Seems some of dad's opinion of Landon rubbed off on little junior son of a bitch.
I don't imagine so. People are caught up in the Donovan shock but the exclusion of both Evans AND Parkhurst is very surprising imo.
Now I'm wondering if he won't be starting? He did start last game against Mexico when the US played very well in the first half. Its the game Donovan came off the bench. That was foreshadowing so I wonder if that Davis starting was as well?
Who is taking the corners and free kicks? I see Dempsey/Bradley/Altidore for free kicks, I guess Zusi for corners?
Klinsmann 2010: When the going gets tough, you can't always count on Landon. Witness his performance against Ghana. It's an interesting comment today ...
Re: @Susaeta's comment from earlier, speaking privately with another poster earlier, this came up: "my gut feeling is that Donovan's aloof introspection and weighty self-reflection isn't the atmosphere he wants in this locker room. He wants dogged determination and youthful 'screw it, let's just win this whole thing.'" I think this is spot on analysis if we're going the "attitude/chemistry" route. His self-awareness makes Klinsmann a little uneasy because it doesn't mesh with the team mentality he is looking for. This is the same trait of Donovan's which seems to polarize the fanbase. Some respect it and say it is a sign of maturity and having a deep level of understanding, some see it as lacking the killer instinct and point to it as the underlying factor for why his club career has been largely spent in LA. The way it divides portions of fans is something that transcends soccer, though, and doesn't seem like an easily-persuadable belief.
IF true, JK is a moron. In four years, Brooks might be retired, Yedlin could be in NASL, and Green could be a male prostitute and heroin fiend living in Kabul. You go for the win, you go for the glory, because these things only happen once every four years. No one builds for the future anymore, not in the World Cup.
It's not, but it was funny. It also brings a completely new meaning to the lyrics: "Wake up little Zusi, Wake up"
