Congrats to Rotherham and Myshoe on today's winning of the EFL Trophy. Seeing as you've posted without mentioning it, I'll presume you didn't make the trip down to Wembley for the occasion ... though I cannot imagine why not. That would've been a nice one, 'shoe. Anyway, in honor of Rov'rum's big accomplishment today (and in the good spirits that come with hammering Newcastle), I will be heading down Bluffton Road to Papa John's for a pie. Onions and green olives, I'm thinking. And I'll lift a slice to Myshoe.
Big win v Ipswich today. Wigan losing at home to Cambridge as I type. Probably won't matter, but could. Just need something from Wednesday in the late one.
Those are three cracking results in League1 for Rotherham today. The Wigan one may not matter much, but the other two ... huge.
Yeah, it really should have been sewn up by now. The Oxford match is huge. Two wins from the last three will do. Winning at Sunderland is a big ask; in fact, it's tough to see. Gillingham away on the last day should be manageable, but it looks like they may be needing something to stay up, so it'll matter to them. Still, if you don't take care of Oxford, I suspect Gillingham might not mean much. MKDons only have two left, and it's tough to see them dropping points to Morecombe at home. But their last one is at Plymouth, who'll probably be needing something to get into the playoffs. That could be a tough one for them. No one will be fancying Rotherham in the playoffs if it comes to that. But it's still all in their hands to get automatic. But they need to show up against Oxford.
We've lost 4 out of the last 5 against teams we were expected to beat and we were lucky not to lose against Ipswich in all honesty, if MK Don's can win both of their remaining games we're ducked imo.
What's sad is that while I can envision Rovrum and the pariahs dropping enough points to be caught, I don't see Wednesday winning out. They're just not clinical enough in front of goal.
A computer model (which are generally biased rubbish) has MK Don's finishing above us, but still it doesn't take a genius to see we're bang out of form... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/supercomputer-predictions-efl-promotion-places-26770554 If we can up our game we can finish second but our drop off in form has been quite alarming, we'd struggle in League Two as things stand let alone the Championship.
