good news though it would not surprise me to see them do something with Bou since his contract is up at the end of the year

Agreed, if they can re-sign Bou to a TAM deal, that would be a big help to the team.

or cut ties with Vrioni. Paying a DP to be a part time starter is not a good ROI. Maybe the new coach will better utilize him

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. The great and powerful Revs have (not) spoken!

That's what I want to see - it's frustrating that he misses so much time with injury, but we are a so much better team with him on the field.

I thought Bou going back to Argentina was highly likely, but I wonder if the recent election changes things. While he may get a better offer there, how much is it really worth with the hyper-inflation (though, perhaps players get paid in a more stable currency)?

And, with a radical-right economist, with zero political experience as the new president - what could go wrong?
Eh, I think a 4th DP is actually a bad idea.

For one, it means Miami will keep loading up - and will likely blow away the league unless injuries derail them again.

And, two, as Arena says in his book, MLS keeps tweaking their rules in ways that leave fewer and fewer roster and playing opportunities for domestic players, which hurts our USNT program.

Vrioni has showed his skill - the lack of production is a coaching problem. If he's a bad fit for our system, then that's another issue. But, without a coach, we don't even know what our system will be.

Nothing at all, just ask him…

    Me too.

My OPINION is that it would be interesting to see what teams(at least the ones willing to spend) would do with the money if they had greater freedom under a much larger cap.

I think with Arena, if the league moved to a $50M cap (for example), they'd spend all they could because he'd push for it. This new Coach and new SD, if they're just "yes men" ... they'll constantly just be looking for bargains. Just MHO.

Well, someone at the Revs was paying attention to BigSoccer. It's now official, Chancalay signed through 2026 with a club option for 2027.

Nice. I also noticed that the article refers to "Revolution Interim Sporting Director Curt Onalfo". Hmm...

I like him, I think he has much more to offer, he just needs to be on the field

And if they really didn't offer him, then I'm even more on the get Onalfo out bandwagon.

I read somewhere that he was in the process of getting his green card. Not sure if that would be the case if he was planning on going back to Argentina.

So the real question is whether they tried to buy him down to a non-DP contract, but it was a low-ball offer and he said "fuhgeddaboutit?" Or does he see the writing on the wall and realize that it's unlikely to get any better, especially since no one knows who the coach will be and what kind of style he wants to play?

Too bad. He was one of the few players who could instantly change the game. If he can stay healthy...

When it comes to Bou, I think there are a number of factors to consider:

    1. He'll be 34 years old in February.

    2. He's been injured a LOT over the past two seasons.

    3. Even if he's not on a DP salary, he'll still be relatively expensive.

    4. He's a really good player, but maybe not a really good fit for this team. Over the past few years, the Revs have been at their best playing a 4-2-3-1. I'm not sure Bou can be the lone striker in that formation, and I'd want my attacking three to be Borrero, Gil, and Chancalay. So, where does Bou find playing time if that's the team's most effective setup?

Again, really good player who performed really well for the club. An excellent signing overall... but I just think it's time to part ways.

If he's announcing a departure now (or soon), then I expect it's more about having an offer from someone that he's happy with, rather than wait to see what the Revs eventually come up with.

There were rumors that Racing was interested in him.
Yeah, but he really helped Gil be his best self. Who is going to do that now?

Jon Bell is out of contract, and reports are STL don't plan to re-sign him. I thought he was a good, versatile option off the bench when he was a Rev. Replacement for Ben Sweat perhaps?

was not a fan of his at all. Arguably the weakest part of this Revs team is the defense. The Lima coming in and Sweat leaving are steps in the right direction. Hopefully they somehow part ways with Gonzalez as well. This team needs better than Bell. They need the likes of Farrell or Kessler coming off the bench.

My guess is that since Lima is coming in Makoun is probably gone. Omar should be gone as he sucks and is not worth is 450k salary. As much as I like the hustle Rennick brings, I just don't think he has the talent for MLS. He could have a nice career in USL or USL C. Macial is not worth the International spot. That could be better utilized
