Dumbass Stan and Sofi Stadium won’t be hosting WC ‘26 matches. Reportedly, he says it’s too expensive to retro fit the stadium to FIFA pitch standards. Ummm…. Stan, you’ll make that money up very quickly hosting WC games. So not only did you not have foresight into the stadium design for the WC, you don’t have foresight into making that money back. Lutz Pfannenstiel is also the best and maybe most connected Sporting Director in MLS. He’s the difference. He’s what Smith wishes he could be. I’ll have to find it, but there’s an article out there where Lutz breaks down his method of finding players. Absolutely fascinating. It echos this article about Markanich. Amazing what can happen when you have a competent, connected Spirting Director / GM with a well designed and realistic vision…….
