I have a feeling Gazdag kept it onside (he's off screen at the bottom)?

Anyways, Philly didn't do enough to win this game. Been a hell of a run the past 6 seasons. Rebuild starts tomorrow.

Hopefully El Brujo's injury isn't serious. Pre season starts in about 5/6 weeks.

Even after enduring a slog of a season, if the Union had lost fair and square, there’s no problem with that as that’s how sports go — but to have the season (and Bedoya era) end on that bad VAR offside, it’s unjust and leaves a very sour taste.

They hadn’t done enough to win the game at that point, but neither had Cincinnati. Heading into extra time, that game was still a toss up.

From the officials: Onside “because he was judged to be even with the second-to-last defender.”

Your comment made me take another look and there is an angle showing Carranza was clearly the last man. It's close enough I can understand the line ref blowing the call but I can't see how anyone looking at it on replay could let it go. At least the angles available to us punters. But hey if you can chop a guy down making a non soccer move and in no way going for the ball and probably break the guys ankle and not have the ref take look then why would they bother the ref to look at this? They def blew it but so it goes.

Don't forget giving the trainer a card for time wasting while helping the injured player off of the field......

In real time, I thought the goal was offside. Not because Murphy was offside but because he was returning from an offside position and was the first player to touch the ball. Isn't that a rule? I was confused that nobody mentioned he was returning from an offside position.

I was not terribly upset. The Union should have scored three goals so that this did not matter. They did not do that so the game was going to end up being a coin toss. I can't wait for next season.

That is the rule, and is why as soon as I saw the replay, I thought VAR would certainly disallow the goal.

I'm looking forward to next season as well and hopefully MLS will sort out the scheduling and lose the ridiculous 3 match playoff first round.
